Grew up riding XC in the Praries, advancing as far as racing for the National team at Worlds and World Cups as a junior/U23. Podiumed and won a couple XC National Championships. Moved to Victoria and started racing road bikes, racing again on the national team and podiumed at the national championships and won BC provincials a couple times as a pro/elite. Quit road racing in 2017 and began riding squishy trail bikes, dabbling in some Enduro racing.

AMI Purchases Bike Mag, Dew Tour, & Other Sports/Adventure Titles
@watchmen: hum, I understand the idea of taking over similar companies and making those companies more profitable under one umbrella. Just seems like a lot of these accusations are a gut and let die job, doesn’t make much sense economically on the surface. Having refinanced 460 million debt, I’m just thinking they might right off debt through bankruptcy of these new companies. Though an evil accountant bro might chime in for fun.

Noob here! Why do these big conglomerates buy up profitable companies and then gut them with a rusty knife until their worthless? Is it some weird tax bankruptcy loophole or money laundering scheme?

Chain Reaction Cycles Won't Sell You Shimano Parts if You're in North America
The big brands like Shimano created this problem by giving CRC insane discounts on product that they then passed along to consumers at very low profit margin. Shimano then charged the North American distributors/shops significantly more than they did to CRC. Shimano’s quality and engineering the last years has fallen quite significantly, matching the CRC pricing relative to their competitors. Shimano’s only real choice now after devaluing the brand is to offer everyone the exact same ‘cost’ regardless of volume at their now expected low prices.

Review: 6 Months on SDG's New Tellis Dropper Post
My One Up is been nothing but trouble. Sticky movement that fails to return to full length without pulling up the saddle by hand. The lever has play that keeps changing with time. Priced well, long drop, but doesn’t work nearly as well as a Transfer or Bike Yoke which I also own. I’ve surviced and re-installed, lubed and played with the One Up many times with little improvement. Not the goldilocks post PB commenters are praising.

@gdnorm: it also doesn’t bode well for future overpriced home sales or pension plans for the old peeps.

Cannondale Launches New F-Si Throwback Framesets
Pretty sick, although an alloy version with aluminium hollowgram cranks, SI bar, stem and post would be a better more compelling throwback.

First Ride: 2019 Canyon Neuron
Canyon designers throwing it back to 2014. I like some of the designs Canyon does. Other times they leave you thinking about all the future unsold bikes in a warehouse that will eventually have to go on clearance.
