Cold Smoking meats at home is not recommended by The US National Center for Home Food Preservation. However, watching Washington State native Smokey shred his Kona Wozo in freezing cold conditions most definitely is.

Smokey

The Wozo takes fat bike stereotypes and tosses them out the window. Sure, it’s great to ride in typical fat bike conditions, but it also rips on singletrack and with those big old Maxxis tires, traction is paramount and bumps dissolve with ease.

Looking to buy or test the Wozo? Visit your local dealer or check our website for more information.

You can watch Smokey's classic freight train jump here.

Wait, watching Washington native Smokey shred his Kona Wozo in freezing cold conditions is recommended by The US National Center for Home Food Preservation??

fatties are also great on multi use trails including motorbikes and atv's due to the soft conditions. They're not always the best tool for the job,but there not many jobs they can't do. Before you get too excited,I remember when people thought 2.3'a were stupid wide, and shouldn't be used on normal trails...yes,I'm that old. Now it's more like a minimum width. I love my fat bike, I ride it year round cuz it's a bike and bikes are fun.

Great video. My third season of fat biking is about to start and can't wait. It's not exactly the same as mtn biking, but it's biking, and loads of fun. Winters here can be long and this gets me outdoors in all but the harshest days. Minus 20-25C is my limit; get soft in my old age. I've used the fat bike in summer as well, when my other bike was broken, and it's a different experience that's still great fun. Ride it like you stole it!

Great little edit Kona. I was a total fat bike hater until I got my Wozo. So much fun.

im not a fat bike hater but it seems they push their fat bike mentality way too much. I have a downhill bike but constantly get told its not capable enough for our local trails because the tires are too small. I hate all off those people so much. I literally tour the country and ride trails, but hey keep telling me what to do when you ride 2 miles a week locally and can't even change a quick link chain

@Wizard79: Go on group rides with them. Let them see how much more slowly they corner and descend with their superior tires.

@Wizard79: Fat bikes are phenomenal for what they're good at, riding on snow.
Without my fat bike, I would have 7-8 months every year that would be unrideable where I live.

I have never ridden it outside the winter months, and I have no wish to do so either.

Horses for courses.

@Wizard79: Well, they are in the business of enticing people to buy their bikes.

It's just bikes - not a measure of your quality of person or defining character..lulz. Anyway, it sounds like you've been on the receiving end of unwelcomed criticism of your gear so I'm sure you'll be on guard not to do that to others.

Whatever you roll - have fun. Don't yuck someone else's yum.

I'ts hard to make something special these days but the camera angle, sun flares and the song put this video in whole new level. The vibe descibes it all. Damn cool!

bring on the snow! (if we get any this year) if fat bikes are dead, then I'd say that video was a pretty good attempt at resuscitation

fat bikes are definitely not dead in places where it actually snows

Very timely, the Kootenay region woke up to InstaWinter yesterday and I saw some fat bike tracks while trick or treating with the kids last night. Now it's time to swap tires, on the truck and fat bike.

If I lived in an area that got snowy / sloppy winters I feel like I could get stoked on fat bike riding.

Fat biking is what we do when we are forced to find way to continue riding in the winter. True fat bike enthusiast are 55 year + roadies looking for a break from spandex skiing. Its a weird bunch, but you gota love em.
