I Manage Westside sports, a shop that specializes in skis, snowboards and bikes in the summer. I’ve raced xc mountain bikes and raced for the Sprokids team back in the 90’s. Helped build some of the trails up there through the club and ended up building the torrent and ridge trails on my own with the help of my dad. I switched to road and currently race gravel for the Gastown race team. Spending time in the mountains is my favourite thing no matter how you do it.

Pinkbike Editors' Christmas 2021 Wish Lists
Alicia, as a boot fitter by trade I would have to say the zero G is the way to go. If you’re using a older version of the Cochise the boot should fit similar. The new Cochise is more generous. The most important thing about the zero G though is the workability of the boot. It’s one of the most customizable boots out there and it’s easy to work on to find perfect the fit.

Video: Welcome to the 2021 Fall Field Test - Trail and Downcountry Bikes
Thanks Pinkbike for this test, I’ve been looking forward to it. But why no Scott Spark in the field test? That bike seems to be more progressive than half the bikes in here and would love a head to head match up.

Review: 2022 Scott Spark 900 Tuned AXS - A Hidden Shock & All the Integration
This bike looks so good. Great design. Don’t understand why every one complains about the twin lock. Once you use it and see how functional it is you forget about all the cables. Can’t wait to get my hands on one. Really nice to see that Scott took such a radical approach and make it work.

First Look: Diamondback's Affordable Downhiller - the 2015 DB8
I totally agree with bgmullan. I've had Avids and zero issues. If brakes are set properly and taken care of, you will have a great experience with almost any higher level brake brand. This bike looks sick. Way to go DB.

Carbon if made properly is stronger than metal. I've had carbon cranks for three years and beat the crap out of them and zero issues. I also have a carbon road bike and have zero issues at 70 kms an hour. Fact is there have been way more aluminium bars that have been broke or bent in the history mountain biking. I know that myself have broken Easton and Truvativ aluminium bars. Doesn't mean they're bad at all. When you eat shit, shit happens.
