First ever THIRTY7EVEN Bike Battle in a nightclub!
Joost Wichman became 4X World Champion in style and he celebrated it in style. With the Thirty7even Bike Battle in the middle of a nightclub, combined with a lot of show and entertainment.
Gravity mountainbikers celebrate victories their own way. Wichman put the Icycle pumptrack inside nightclub "De Radstake" and invited well known bikers from different disciplines from all over Europe to compete for the title of "Ultimate Pump King 2013".
In the end ROSE Wildcard winner and young BMX talent Niels Bensink was fastest on the ultra short pumptrack that caused some serious g-forces.
The following big names were eliminated earlier; Michiel van der Heijden (XC), Jelle van Gorkom (BMX), Tomas Slavik (4X), Sam Reynolds (freestyle), Desmond Tessemaker (BMX freestyle), Petrik Brückner (Enduro), Rick Koekoek (Bike Trial), Johannes Fischbach & Guido Tschugg (Downhill). Even World Champ Wichman didn't make it to the finals.
The crowd went wild! They saw speed, crashes, and an indoor backflip - perhaps the first one ever inside a club. Man, do mountainbikers know how to party.
To be continued!
