Plenty of little shredders out here racing. Many of us were amazed on how good they were.

On the second and final heat of the finals Bubba and Mitch crashed in the same corner. Both scrambled quickly to get up but Bubba had a slight mechanical which gave Mitch the edge he needed. Mitch went on to take his second win of the day.

bigquotesThe night was going good but hard. It was tough to see at the speed we wanted to go. I was up on Mitch after the first heat in the finals. On the second heat, we both went down. I look over and he's over the bar. We both scramble for our bikes, but my bars were messed up. He had a jump on me and was able to get me by a little. At the end of the day, it was fun and I was stoked to make it down. Austin Warren

bigquotesI was glad to make it through the day and night race. It was fun and tough. It was hard to see and find traction. Bubba was up on me from the first round but we both went down in the second round. It was just get up as fast as we could and... GO! Mitch Ropelato

Super fun looking event. One question though; why wouldn't each racer run a helmet/handlebar light set up? With the brightness of light systems these days it sure wouldn't seem like a disadvantage.

I'm guessing they didn't think they'd need it. Sounds like they didn't light the course up enough IMO.

It was a cluster. But I'm glad I struck with it till the end. Bummed my inner tube and water bottle laden bike didn't make the photo cut.

I could be very wrong, but is that you behind bubba in the 3rd pic?

Hah. So I do get my 15 seconds of fame. Or at least, 1/8 of my helmet.
