by Simon Nieborak

From the slopes of Utah to slopestyle courses around the world, from dropping a massive caveman to "inventing" the mini-flip - Tom Van Steenbergen is one of the most versatile riders out there. He can shred Rampage like a full-time big mountain freerider, but he's no stranger to dirt jumping scene, as well. This weekend, here in the French city of Montpellier, he is showing us his best moves on this very purple Trek Ticket hardtail.

Tom Van Steenbergen's dirt jump bike is a single-speed Trek Ticket with a Fox fork and a host of Deity parts.

Sensus Swayze grips and a rear-only Shimano XT brake.
Deity Black Label 38mm rise bars

  Fox's 831 36 fork.

  Deity's Copperhead 35mm stem.

Deity Frisco saddle on I-Beam seatpost.

  Industry Nine Enduro 305 rims

Industry Nine hubs

Saint cranks / Deity T-Mac pedals

@FLATLlNE: why the crap were you downvoted?

26" enduro specific or 27" dirt jump bike?
  • 3 2
Are you saying there's 26" Enduro wheels.
  • 2 0
@Elitecaleb: I guess some people would prefer Enduro didn't have jumps?
  • 3 0
@virtumedia: So. DJ is enduro? #mindblown

@chyu: are you saying there isn't?

I know, beautiful, it kinda reminds me of Klein back in the day, boy they had nice paint jobs!
  • 1 0
I thought it was two different bikes at first and then I realized it changes colors a little.
  • 1 0
@landscapeben: maybe that’s why Trek purchased them(?)
  • 1 0
@macross87: That and the beautiful light weight frames they were churning out. I occasionally see one out on the trails or parked up somewhere and they're still head turning even now.

You should add hub sound at bike checks like this
  • 10 0
Alright, I'll do it on my next bike-check shoot

This idea made me smile! Beautiful Smile

Fise is the worst thing to happen to freestyle. Nice colour tho
  • 13 5
Those tires are definitely not Maxxis Ikons.
  • 6 4
Why you say? they look just like my set.
  • 7 4
 They 100% are Ikons dude
  • 14 2
 Sarcasm children, sarcasm...
  • 2 2
They look HUGE are they 2.35?!
  • 3 0
Could be protos. Everyone had such great success knocking off minions, why not try an ikon?
  • 7 0
Dirt bikes are things of beauty. I want one. Ill never ride it but they look good so i want one.
  • 5 2
When will Trek find someone who can do a better job welding there frames? For the money they should be better quality.....
  • 2 0
I thought the same thing... quantity over quality..
  • 2 0
@supercruizer1: Exactly right. You would think with quantity they would be prices for the quality they put out haha! I have seen cheap department store bikes with better quality welds.
  • 1 0
Maybe they are double welds? Laid on thick like toothpaste for extra strength?
  • 2 1
@sriracha: The extra heat from a secondary weld would likely create a weaker section .... Just looks like a poor tie-in or improper trail off..
An ugly weld doesn't necessarily mean a bad weld..
  • 1 0
Gorilla welds. Stronger then all get out but ugly AF.

M8000 only brake. This guy lives life on the edge!
  • 1 0
Pretty awesome, what is that fork? 80 millimeters? The fat tires, and black rims look good together.
  • 3 1
What's a mini flip? Flipping off a real small kicker?
  • 1 0
With such a build, I'm surprised they couldn't give us the weight?
  • 2 1
 Dat colour tho
  • 1 0
 What tires are those ?
  • 2 1
 Blacked out ikons
  • 1 0

  • 3 0
Hello there, What do you mean by chainring in the wrong position?
  • 1 0
 ya it is
  • 1 0
Doesn't matter, half link chain on a NW chainring?
  • 1 2
Except for the forks I like my YT Dirtlove more.
  • 2 5
