Home Bicycles, the story…
June 2009.It all started in June 2009 when Cyrille and Bruno worked as project manager in engineering. decided to create their own company…Home Bicycles.
Their many years of riding mountain bikes together with their great experience in the industry as project manager in engineering allowed them to develop a 160mm enduro/all mountain frame. The project started by many months of designing and exchange with many riders on a dedicate forum Cyrille had created. They talked about geometry, suspension,... This forum allowed to benefit from the experience of each: thousand of miles on differents frames and geometries,... After few months of hard work, Cyrille and Bruno got the final plan of their first bike: the Revolver.
March 2010.After has started the conception phase, 3D design, forces analysis, compression ratio...
May 2010The two lads decided to produce everything themselves, a 100% french bike. Cyrille and Bruno decided to invest in CNC machines and make the frame themselves instead of subcontracting the work out.
They use T651 aluminium blocks to make headtubes, bottom brackets, rear bases and other parts.
The tubes start out from a sheet of laser cut aluminum in 6061, which is then formed on a hydraulic press and later welded.
After conception and reception of the first machines of the production phase has begun. Cyril and Bruno were involved in the machining of aluminum in their workshop in Nantes. They had to find local partners for laser cutting of aluminum plates 6061, the hydraulic press forming tubes, welding, painting. Revolver is finally product in a perimeter of 50 kilometers around Nantes.
May 2011.After one year of work and tests, their first bike, first called 'Shaft' was finished in June 2011, two years since the start of the project. Cyrille and Bruno brought it to les Deux Alpes in France during Le mondial du VTT for the first presentation at french press.
The bike has been tested by many racers, including pro riders who have all confirmed the excellent performance of the bike. The bike was well born
During the summer 2011, Cyrille and Bruno met François Malbezin, a french graphic artist who totaly modified the bike graphisms.
The final result looks awesome.
I personally met Cyrille and Bruno in September 2011, and we decided to create a movie about their story. I found this project really ambitious and the fact to product at hundred pourcent in France really respectable by this time. The goal was to resume this two years adventure in less than ten minutes. The movie should be present on their stand in Le Roc d'Azur, two months later.
October 2011.While the first bicycle was introduced in Les Deux Alpes, the brand Home Bicycles is really born in Le Roc d'Azur. They were able to present their first bike on their own stand. The enthusiasm of the press, hundred of visitors, and riders rewarded Cyrille and Bruno for this past two years of hard work.
November 2011.I found the Home Bicycles team in Britain in November. They were in Crozon for the first official photo shoot of Revolver with the photographer Mathieu Le Gall. I brought my camera for the occasion and shoot all day, the first rays of the sun until sunset.
January 2012.The revolver has participated in its first test with a French magazine. It emerged as one of the best bikes in its class. Soon he should participate in other trials in France and press may be in Europe.
March 2012.Cyrille and Bruno currently manufacture Revolver to respond to commands from France and other countries and work for several weeks on an all-mountain 140mm. Look at the first
