High Voltage: The Inside Line on Electronic Shifting and Suspension
i can appreciate the electronic shift's technical superiority to a cable-operated system, but both are equally susceptible to failure which isn't unlikely in a sport like mountain biking - especially if you ride technical terrain or fairly aggressively. The cost of replacement of said damaged components will likely swing more than a few riders back to the old tried and true 'low-tech' derailleurs.

Commencal's Monster Trail Bike: Meta AM V4-2
@WAKIdesigns: i've had nothing but trouble with mine. Engagement issues in the beginning, now with creaking. If i could make the chainline work with a Saint crank on a Hope 24mm BB, i would, but it just wasn't going to happen. It's been the biggest headache ever using their crank and 30mm threaded BB.

The Art of Following - Opinion
When i rode with a pair of guys who were miles ahead of me in the downhill sections, they used to have me lead a a double-positive: they tried to keep up in the uphills and push me to go faster down so as not to hold them up. It worked well, i think.
