Being fortunate enough to grow up in the mountain biking mecca that is the Pacific Northwest I was able to meet many talented riders and builders from an early age. I remember the first time I met Britney, probably close to five years ago now, it was a typical cold and wet autumn day in the Northwest. The trails were muddy, the roots slippery, my hands were so cold that I had to pry them off my handle bars after each lap, not to mention my goggles kept fogging so badly that I opted ride without them and face the relentless onslaught of mud and rain that was pelting me in the face on every sloppy corner. Needless to say I was over it. Just as I was loading up my bike and getting ready to head home for the comfort of warm food and an even warmer shower, Britney, comes racing to the bottom of the trail. She pulls off her helmet and despite the thick coating of mud I could see she was grinning from ear to ear. She was stoked to be on her bike and she didn't care what the conditions were. We ended up riding together for the rest of the afternoon, her excitement never dwindling until it was too dark to ride...All these years later I can say she is as stoked as ever. It was just her and I filming this edit; nobody else was there to motivate her or to help carry her bike or to give her tips or anything, and it was clear from the first minute of shooting that she doesn't need that extra "
push" to get the job done. After shooting for six hours she was still eagerly hiking her bike up the hill, re-hitting features until she got the shot she wanted, and never failing to keep the stoke high...Enjoy!
