Eurobike continued at full-tilt today and we have been scouring the halls to bring you our pick of what is on show.

Marzocchi 888.

Marzocchi 888 details.

Marzocchi have had a tough few years, but have now secured production for their 2013 forks and shocks and, well just look at them... For now they have cut back what they offer to concentrate on the high-end forks and shocks. Leading up their rangeis their revised 888. The RC3 damper has been tweaked slightly to offer better control and the legs are now hard anodised in their gold race coating. Aftermarket they will have a few other colours available too.

Marzocchi 55.

Marzocchi 55 details.

The 66 has been dropped from the range, so the 55 is now their sole offering in the burly, long-travel end of things. It too has been given the tweaked RC3 damper and gold race coating.

Marzocchi Roco Lite.

Their top air shock, the Roco Lite has been given the gold treatment too.

Royal Race jersey and short.

Royal Race jersey and short details

Royal had their 2013 range on show and pride of place went to their totally re-designed Race gear. They have come to the conclusion that most race kit is too much, too heavy and, after wind tunnel testing with Trek, too baggy. Because of this their new line sports a slightly slimmer cut, lighter weight material and more movement in the clothing. Unlike most race kit it feels like you could happily go riding all day in this kit.

Royal Slice Ride jersey and Signature short.

Royal Slice Ride jersey and Signature short details.

aking a step towards trail riding is the Signature short and Ride jersey. The material is slightly lighter still, but still tough, and the design is slightly more subdued.

Endura luggage.

Endura luggage details.

Endura are making a big expansion to their range with this new luggage. Designed by the same person who designs luggage for companies like Burton and Analog, they have come out swinging. On first inspection it seems to be tough, full of features and well thought out.

Endura iPhone wallet.

To go with the luggage is this very cool iPhone wallet. One side is a normal wallet, the other has a plastic front that protects your phone, but also lets you use it without taking it out.

Endura MTR.

Endura MTR details.

On more regular lines for Enduro is their new MTR riding gear.

Polygon Collossus

We took a good look at Polygon's Collossus when we saw it in Taipei earlier this year. Here in Germany they have the top-line version, complete with Fox suspension, full Saint and Mavic DeeMax wheelset.

Polygon Cozmic

Polygon also had their Cozmic DX jump bike on show. Sam Reynolds and Yannick Granieri have been giving them feedback on this back and it has been changed a lot since with first saw it earlier this year.

TLD Specialized Stumpjumper Evo.

It's not exactly new, but damn the Troy Lee-painted Specialized Stumpjumper is sexy.

Syntace Vector bars.

Syntace have been studying cockpit heights recently and have seen that with bigger wheels becoming more popular, some riders need to start dropping the bar height. To do this they have introduced a negative rise bar to their Vector range. Christoph Sauser rode one of these to victory in the Cape Epic this year.

Syntace FlatForce stem.

To go with the negative rise bars, there is also a negative rise stem.

Syntace Moto grips.

This is a another nice touch from Syntace - their Moto grips are now offered in different thicknesses to suit personal preferences.

Syntace X12 tool.

Syntace introduced the 12x142 axle standard to the world and now they have come up with their own take on a release system - this cool little allen key tool you keep in the axle itself. They claim it's both lighter and simpler than any other system out there.

The Lynx something.

BH had a prototype 150mm, carbon, 27.5 inch-wheeled Lynx 6 on display. They aren't a company we are too familiar with, but with Dave Weagle's Split Pivot suspension system in there and aggressive-looking angles we'd like to know nore about this bike.

66 gets dropped? This is a sad day!
  • 28 1
Agreed! I wonder what the max travel they'll offer the 55 in now?

You 2 may be the only 2 people in the world who would buy a 66. Ever bother trying out a talas or a lyrik? I think they won the 6 inch travel fork battle years ago...
  • 54 3
 66's are still legendary though
  • 79 3
Except the 66 is a 7" freeride fork...
  • 8 1
Take a look at the rest of the lineup, they slimmed it way down. They look great though, here's to hoping their performance matches the looks.

Marzocchi had a few bad years (2008 & 2009 in particular) but i owned a 2007 66 rc2x and it was so smooth and plush. I run a 2011 Marzocchi 888 RC3 evo ti fork on my DH bike and it is by far the most reliable and plush fork I have ever owned; nothing but positive feedback from me.

i run a 2012 66 rc3 on my vp free and i love it... great fork... sad to see them dropped... but, maybe they just wnat to make room for a new SHiver DC and SC... an RC3 Shiver would be amazing
  • 7 0
Great. Now i am pissed that i sold my old trusty 66.
  • 4 1
And even more sad is that they will NOT offer any trail fork for 26 inch wheels in 2013.
  • 7 0
I would choose(and currently run) a 2012 66 on my bike...and i have a float 180 sitting around doing nothing. I'm kinda annoyed that they dropped it from their lineup. i just don't love the 180 or totem as much
  • 5 0
From now on, the 66 is a legned.
It does not look like, that they will provide a 180mm fork?!??
  • 4 0
66 was a legend, the first big single crown fork. Sad.
  • 2 0
 Gonna miss those 66's Frown
  • 11 2
Yup 29ers, 650b and Enduro racing weight weenie frenzy will kill those - Totem is next... it's all about performance now, people embrace light weight, they want to be like racers - Freeride as we know it from NWD and Kranked is... dead - RIP
  • 14 2
@samminett "marzzochi trying to coppie FOXs kashima" this is not kashima, and anyway, Kowa suspension has been using the Kashima coating on stanchions decades before fox did.
  • 1 0
if you look at the lowers on the right side of them if they were on the bike, near the arch theres a lil shiny metal knob looking thing, is that just a sticker or some new tech?
  • 4 0
The first picture of this link: www.vitalmtb.com/forums/The-Hub,2/New-MTB-Parts-from-the-2012-Taipei-Show,6372
Shows a 2013 66. Don't worry!
  • 2 0
I like the 66 too.... had one for a few years and really loved it. They would only drop it I imagine if sales were lackluster. If you think about it the 55 is really enough for everything but fr/dh. So I guess they are thinking you just go 888 at that point? I do think they are missing the mark here, I like single crown forks and the 66 was a nice one.
  • 3 0
the 66 was dropped because there was no more call from it, the 55 is now a 170mm fork and the 66's 10mm extra travel was deemed to be carrying an excessive weight penalty (rather like the totem compared to the lyrik), still i wouldnt be surprised if marzocchi stretches the 55 to 180mm travel at some point though, rather like fox has with the 36.

marzocchi is not copying foxs ideas they started putting fancy coatings on forks long before fox
  • 2 1
Where does it say the 66 is dropped?
  • 3 0
Umm... in the article. Although the guy faul's link there is holding one so who knows.
  • 2 0
Hmm. I guess my phone wont show the article. I googled 2013 marzzochi 66 and a bunch if pictures pooped up. It looks awesome. But their website doesn't show it. Maybe there waiting to release it. The 66 is their bread and butter!
  • 1 0
Picture of 2013 on vital from the Taipei show like faul shared. Strange.
  • 2 0
viccityburner, you should go and tell robbie bourdon about what you think about the 66
  • 1 0
the mobile site has been weird, wouldnt show the all of the words for the randoms and the crankworx backstorys

Troy Lee Stumpy is NOT "sexy." Looks like some bad 80's tattoo artist doodled on it. Red lightening bolts?
  • 11 1
I don't get the TLD gear. I don't get the price and I sure as shit don't get the designs. It just looks like Ed Hardy figured out how to use neon.

Most booth girls at trade shows are "local talent" hired for the event to attract people. Marzocchi is notorious for having nasty strippers at their Interbike booth, and they know NOTHING of the product.
  • 3 0
strippers and/or porn actresses, that's long been a marzocchi hallmark for trade shows.

Kindly tell us when Fox patented the colour gold?
  • 16 0
 its just a color
  • 13 2
i fucking love marzo. those forks look super rad, and bet they feel amazing! im stoked on the roco lite shock too, wouldnt mind trying it.
  • 9 1
Fox didnt invent kashima, they simply licensed it first for bicycles. Any other suspension brand can license it now if they want to but there are many other slick ceramic coatings available that work better.
  • 11 7
kashima is dumb. lets color the fork gold and call it kashima. make people pay way to much. and it wont make one bit of a difference
  • 14 0
kashima = standard hard coat anodizing like on previous rs and fox forks + chemical treatment to impregnate molybdenum disulfide (dry lubricant like graphite) into its porous surface which gave it the dark gold color. what marz did here is the same thing only with tungsten disulfide (to circumvent kashima patents i guess, there is a document describing kashima process in detail, took me a lot of googling just to understand what's said there lol) so this effectively is kashima (okay, not exactly the same but very very similar).
  • 8 4
all i got out of that was they do something chemically to make it look gold and fancy haha
  • 2 1
 well, that's about it lol
  • 3 0
Bomber orange coating and lowers would be rad. Fox, X-fusion, Marzocchi are all starting to look the same. Bring back the Bomber orange and Judy red and yellow for that matter!
  • 11 0
All you kids are forgetting that Marzocchi were using gold colouring before fox even thought about making mtb forks

HELL.... 1992 the "slick" coating was to nickel & chrome plate the steel stanchions (RS, Manitou, Marzocchi) and then 1993 RS brought out Al stanchions and the first hard gold annodizing with teflon impregnation on the Mag-21 SL. Manitou followed in 1994 with a black teflon annodized Al stanchions for the Manitou 3. Marzocchi kept on going with Chromed steel stanchions for another couple years until the first bomber fork.

Ugh, Marzocchi has been the least innovative suspension company lately. It definitely looks like they're trying to copy the look of Fox's Kashima Coating.
  • 5 2
Marvi they aren't copying fox and your pretty much wrong with everything you said.

 Marvi. Idiot.
  • 1 0
fox isnt offering aftermarket coloured stanchions either... with luck I can put blue stanchions on my 2011 888
  • 2 1
Hell Fox barely offers Kashima coating on any of the OEM product. Its almost exclusively the aftermarket models only that get it... and the fork prices have gone up as a result (as if Fox was ever cheap).
  • 6 0
So glad that the 55 is available in black and gold. It will look so sick on my Nomad.
Only problem is my current 55 is still working perfect and my wifenancial advisor has me on a tight budget Frown
  • 7 0
The longest 55 they are offering has 170mm of travel, so its just 10mm shy of what they offered with the 66
  • 2 2
Yep. Surely if you need more fork the 888 is the logical answere anyway Smile
  • 10 3
I wish we could get polygon stuff in canada...it looks so dopeeee

 Its a unicycle!
  • 4 3
That happens with a lot of bikes. You also don't know what had happened to it before then. I have a feeling that bike had been abused alot.
  • 7 6
He came up well short on that jump, not sure it would have mattered what bike he was on.
  • 4 3
He crank cased a backflip doesnt matter what he was riding the bike seperated....
  • 5 2
Yes, crap bikes. Yet Yannik is somehow still comfortable throwing tuck flips over 60 foot jumps on the hard tail, guess he has a death wish... Seen multiple bikes by multiple brands break, almost always has to do with how the bike impacted and not how the bike was manufactured.
  • 3 0
Looks to me like the damage was done before that crash , he barely touched the back of that landing really , some thing killed it brfore he done that jump I think.

  • 7 0
Diggin the understated Royal race gear. Back to basics...
  • 8 1
i actually thought the marzocchi stuff looked pretty good.
  • 6 3
I wish Marzocchi would stop teasing us with the promise of aftermarket colour options year on year and never delivering. For the past few years they've teased green, red and blue stancions but none have ever turned up to buy. Doesn't look like they'll be in the game for much longer anyway.
  • 1 0
What makes you say they won't be in the game much longer?
  • 3 0
probably since some of their suspension techs left to form DVO...
  • 2 0
Well, considering the vast pool of high level suspension engineers you can not really say that those guys leaving marzo will sink them. ....... But seriously, where are my green stanchions from a couple years ago?
  • 2 1
Unfortunately the new owner of Marzocchi is a american company and they don´t consider bicycles a profitable market---I go with what jimferno said : The days of Zokes are counted!
  • 2 0
It's been increasingly difficult to obtain the simplest of spare parts for their flagship fork. Ti springs for the 888 don't seem to be available in anything but the standard spring rate. They almost went down the pan a couple of months back before being bought out. This year they cut their product range to a bare minimum and seem to have lost practically all of their OEM contracts. I'd love to see Marzocchi back at the top but Fox and Rock Shox are leaps and bounds ahead at this point.
  • 1 0
That's too bad. I was considering going the Marz route for my next DH fork, but I guess we'll see what happens with the company first.
  • 1 0
I heard that the process for making the colored stanchions was not cost effective. Just a rumor, though.
  • 1 2
 @jimferno

You're as dumb as a f*cking rock.

"[Royal] have come to the conclusion that most race kit is too much, too heavy and, after wind tunnel testing with Trek, too baggy."

Wait a minute, isn't this the same sport whose rules dictate that you must wear baggy stuff and must run a visor on your helmet? And yet they are doing wind tunnel testing? The aerodynamic horse has already bolted, and it was wearing lycra.

I've noticed Rachel Atherton, who once wrote 'Lycra sucks' on her arm, couldn't get into a tighter paid of baggy shorts if she tried and is pinning her race jersey so it doesn't flap in the wind. Lycra only sucks if you care more about looks than speed.

I have marzocchi 66rc3 ti and a fox 36 float and can say that the fox fork is so sick and works wonders on my bike. But the 66 is just perfect in every way for me works even better then my float..

Does anyone have any idea how much one of those Collosus' will run for? ive looked online and it says ~4300 but that seems super low, at that price you might as well sell it for parts
