Set amidst the dramatic hills and calm waters of the UK's Lake District, From Fell To Forest is a short film of an epic journey as Sam Flanagan, Ben Whitehead and Matt Wight become immersed in a land with no shortage of amazing trail riding. This is mountain biking.
That captured our riding here in The Lakes really well. Be prepared for rain, rocks and some hike-a-bike but the rewards are well worth it. Once you've had your fun out on the fells, we've got some quality trails here too. BTW - The fell riding at the beginning is Gatesgarth (nr Haweswater), then it cuts to the relatively new black run at Grizedale Forest.
I hiked the Coast to Coast walk in '89 (wtf - when did I get so old!) and there was 2 guys on mtn bikes riding the trail at the same time. They even rode Helvellyn Striding Edge which impressed the hell out of me. I remember being jeaous as my Tech (good ol' Canadian company back in the day) was back home in Calgary getting dusty.
Thanks for the vid. Brought back some memories. I remember cresting one pass and as we looked down on the lake below there were 3 fighter jets racing along the surface and as they "hopped" the ridge we were standing on, it felt like they were only 50 ft over our heads.
The quality of that video was so good that my laptop barely played it properly... the colours were absolutely perfect in my opinion! I have a question however: I would be very interested in knowing what camera was used to create such great shots?
Awesome video! One of the best I've seen in awhile! Really captured the essence of what a perfect ride is to me.. Great song choice as well! It's The Builder's and the Butcher's, Black Dresses; if anyone wanted to know.
Awesome video man... Makes me want a trail bike videos like this. Out of interest where was that wood? Used to be at Uni in Ambleside see... be nice to know
amazing how unprepared these bikers come across. They've just climbed a mountain but don't have a bag between them, including water or even an emergency bag? I appreciate the camera man might have the kit but if someone comes on here and doesn't know what they are doing, it's not exactly very good role models.
my god are you serious? Its a riding video, not a "how to" video. I'm going to go off on a limb and guess anyone who's actually going to take the time to go ride something of that magnitude, probably has the ability to think of water and other things they may need. if not, that's natural selection. but really this comment is splitting hairs so much that its ridiculous. Couldn't find anything else to criticize?
Sick video, makes me miss all the green of the summer months, now its just white, white and more white (still fun in its own regards) cant wait to get back out in the alpine and do it all over again next year
acdownhill at least your winter has white, which means you can ski/snowboard. We just have to get the spikes out, the tear-offs, strap on mud-guards, spend a fortune on bike washing kit, kit washing kit! It gets a bit tedious after say...a month. Our summer seems to last a grand total of 3 weeks these days. Still I suppose it did Peaty no harm!

He spent a good minute putting his shoes and jacket on, as well as filming birds flying around.
Otherwise solid video
