 Martin Maes.. Class act..
  • 16 2
Which bike is he on...is he doing a Graves?
  • 16 2
 He's on the Fury.
  • 36 1
Won't this be the first time he'll of ridden fort bill too? If so that's a massive achievement.
  • 23 1
It would be fantastic/slightly hilarious to see Martin come and take the win from the DH guys tomorrow. Maybe not so great for the DH guys racing against him, but just to cement how good this lad really is. Guwon Maes!
  • 4 3
Wow, what a kid!! Above Taylor and everything!
  • 42 9
I just farted soo loud you probably heard it in Fart William.
  • 8 2
 Jacob Dickson hit 85km/h Eek
  • 20 1
2 years ago, Martin Maes did the full Belgium DH cup and absolutely smashing everyone including Nico Vink (he was still 15 years old back then). I'll not be surprised when he takes the win here tomorrow.
  • 4 1
Martin said that last time he rode dh bike was 6 months ago and he will be riding pretty cautious during this weekend. No way he's second!!
  • 4 5
 GEE-SLAYER is back!!!
  • 7 0
That's certainly a jumbled up mix! Stoked for Brosnan, but where is ratboy?! And it's sick to see Manon at the top by 10 seconds. I have a feeling she's going to do well this season
  • 2 0
I'm guessing a mechanical for Ratboy after the 1st split, which is was in 2nd place for. Good thing he's a protected rider. Sam Dale was waaaaaay back in the results as well. I'd expect MUCH better results from both tomorrow.
  • 7 1
 Yeah troy!
  • 2 0
Martin Maes has done it!! He finished first in his first ever Worldcup DH Race! WOW!
  • 2 0
What did I say!??? Fantastic win for Maes, let the media frenzy commence...
  • 55 1
Martin Maes putting to bed the whole 'Enduro is just for riders who can't cut it in dh'
  • 18 2
 He's the Semenuk of racing.
  • 4 3
Oh, that's what people thought? I was always embarrassed that people could shred harder on all mountain bikes in an open face helmet and knee pads than most guys on downhill bikes at parks...
  • 2 0
To be fair he is in juniors, and he races elite in enduro. He came 28th fastest time still, which is pretty damn amazing. I'm sure he'd have no problems ripping it the same tomorrow
  • 29 4
GO TLD BOYS! BROSNAN, HILL and GWIN all top 5, and LUCA SHAW of SRAM/TLD Racing in first!
  • 11 2
 Hill ftw..
  • 6 0
I think we are going to see some big things from Brosnan this year.
  • 19 0
Actually Martin Maes is a younger version of Jared Graves.
Before he was signed onto the GT Factory team he rode Enduro races for the Yeti benelux team, he also did 4x and DH races for Ghost if I remember correctly.
Thing is, he did extremely well at all 3 disciplines: 2012 he had an amazing 4x qualifying run at the Dirtmasters Festival in Winterberg where he was only one or two seconds behind Slavik at an age of 15!!
He has also won (overall, not just junior) a couple of belgian DH1 races and well, we all know of his amazing results at the enduro of nations in souze d'oulx!

Give this kid some time in any given discipline and he will sooner or later become top of the class!
  • 18 1
Good to see Sam Hill at the top. Sunday might read Gwin and Shaw with the win!
  • 10 2
I'd like to see Hill do really well.
  • 6 0
I agree a win here for Hill would finally get the monkey off his back. As we all remember this is the track where he went from the rider to beat to a string of unfortunate injuries. GO SAM!
  • 11 0
Troy Brosnan sat in pole, only big name left to run is Stevie Smith:
http://www.uci.ch/templates/BUILTIN-NOFRAMES/Template3/layout.asp?MenuId=MTU0MjY

Should be an awesome race, be cool to see a different/new name finish on the top step of a world cup.
  • 10 0
 check Nick Beer's speed trap 85.8kph !!?
  • 2 1
There's a pole position in DH? Who knew there was a grid start... that's the darndest thing. (yes yes, I'm being a dick Wink )

Nick Beer's speed trap is insane... the more insane part is that that's only 2 kph faster than Steffi Marth from practice. I really hope Danny pulls off the win, but Troy winning would be just as awesome. It's gonna be a good battle.
  • 4 0
jacob dickson's speed trap was 85 too O.O
  • 15 1
Anybody know what happened to Bruni?
  • 15 1
 Martin Maes = Beast.
  • 6 2
4:55:274 would have got him into the top 30 in the elites
  • 7 7
 ^No it wouldnt.. he'd be 32.^
  • 4 2
 No he would be 28.
  • 3 1
Oops was looking at Luca shaws time
  • 2 0
At the time I posted, the top 30 position was correct, but there were still riders left to qualify, including one pretty fast canadian. Wink
  • 12 1
Manon, 10 seconds up!! Looks like the PMB result was not just because Rachel was recovering from illness, Manon has all it takes to be on the top step now...
  • 3 0
she's looking good, really stepping it up but when Rachel gets it going she's hard to beat, i would not look too much into qualifier's, good to see the competition back in the woman's championship.
  • 2 0
It'll be great to see a change up in the womensfield
  • 10 1
This is Troys time to shine, seems like he flies under the radar sometimes... kill it kid. Also Sam up there in 3rd, would also love him to pull put a top result.
  • 11 0
 where is ratboy????
  • 6 0
he came 1min behind, think he got a puncture
  • 3 0
that sucks, cheers for reply buddy!
  • 1 0
does that mean he won't be televised?
  • 1 0
 Peaty?
  • 2 0
 peaty came 38th
  • 1 0
 And Peaty?

Goo RRRRRRATBOYYY!!!!!
#%@$ Kill it tomorrow!!!
  • 2 0
Bryceland was 2nd at split 1 and 152nd by the bottom, must have had a mechanical or a crash somewhere between splits 1 and 2.
  • 4 0
Ratboy's 1st split he was flyinggg only .033 behind Troy Brosnan
  • 2 2
I imagine Bryceland is protected so probably stopped to scope lines
  • 3 0
No sign of his homeboy Same Dale either. They are both protected so they should be slotted in 21 and 22 for the race.
  • 4 2
why would a potential winner stop to look at lines when there's UCI points up for grabs
  • 3 2
Because he is pre qualified and it may be dry early on in the race.
  • 1 1
Fair enough. I guess he's more focused on getting himself a win than UCI points so that makes sense
  • 7 0
Yes Hill on a Puls, fitted with 650b wheels, new dog link, a few changes in set up with forks different in their crowns to normal..
  • 3 0
Pretty f*cking cool elite seeding, nice to see Troy up there! And Martin Maes' time is incredible.

But my question is: anybody knows wtf happened to Rach? No way the other girls just outrode her by that much. Crash/mechanical/still sick?
  • 7 1
Martin Maes! WTF! enduro, downhill,... he got it all
  • 6 0
Manon ...for number 1 .....goooooo gurl.....
  • 6 1
Brook finding his pace again, good to see. And Manon bringing the fight to Rach. Bring on race day!
  • 7 0
 Go for it SAM HILL!!
  • 5 2
Manon laying the critics to rest. She as what it takes to be number one. Let's not forget there's more than 2 women riders in the world cup. And a ten second gap is insane
  • 9 0
Serious question: What critics? All I've read about her for years is that she was a future DH star and now she's reaching that potential.
  • 2 0
Maybe I should had been a little more exact. No one doubts Manons ability as a future champion, watching and following her for years she as demonstrated that. It's more of a reference to this seasons keyboard warrior.comments or views.
  • 5 0
Troy Brosnan, Sam Hill... awesome Big Grin
  • 1 0
Hope the top 3 looks like this tomorrow love seeing these 3 riders doing well, it's been too long since any of them have seen the spotlight!
  • 3 0
Is Sam Hill on that 650B?
  • 2 0
Stevie right behind gee... man this guy has just recovered lately, hasnt he?
  • 3 2
sweet run for jack Iles first time racing fort William coming from a broken leg and he caught the guy in front of him and lost a bunch of time
  • 1 0
Is this the too young for crankworks kid from a few years ago ?
  • 1 0
 Yes!
  • 2 0
Can we trust those speed trap times? I dont understand how some guys can be 20KPH faster than some of the fastest qualifyers
  • 2 0
Is gonna be awesome seeing Stevie Aaron and gee all come down together and then hope full blenki will smash them all
  • 2 0
Was there today, Bryceland and Dale had mechanicals. Manon and Josh for the win tomorrow!
  • 4 1
 Shit yeah Troy!!
  • 2 1
I'd be super stoked for any of those top 3 seated guys to win. I like seeing the little guys be fastest.
  • 1 0
Sad for neethling and brannigan for not qualifying, but stoked for bas van steenbergen!
  • 2 1
Yeah Troy! Stoked to see him in front. 7th for Smith...strong showing for first day back!
  • 2 0
Michael Vickers 146th qualifier... 86kmh, holy shieeeet
  • 1 0
Going to be, as ever at bill, a cracking race! Perfect line up in all categories!!!
  • 3 0
 Yes Jack Iles!!!
  • 1 0
Rocks and roots back, and so is Remi Thirion, hopefully a good result ( event if not the same as Andorra ) !
  • 2 0
Brosna,Hart and Hill for top 3!Probably the best podium i can imagine!
  • 1 0
Am I the only one that sees some of the speeds exceed 85kph?!? Am I crazy or is that fast?
  • 2 0
 smoke em manon! \m/
  • 3 2
Anyone know if Ratboy had a mechanical or a crash, if the latter, he okay?
  • 3 2
 Puncture.
  • 3 2
I heard he stopped so he could go down early tomorrow
  • 1 0
Seriously, though, is there rain coming? These results are ****ed. A lot of big names way down the list. My fantasy team usually kills it. Mulally, Bruni, and Dale are WAY off the pace.
  • 1 0
Sam dale was one of the others on a 'one stop run'
  • 1 0
There are storms on the way, hit Peebles around 2 pm as I got off the trails. There is a chance that the early runners might get a drier track so it's possible it was tactical. Scottish weather though, I wouldn't be trying to predict it...
  • 2 1
Go manon! That gap is ridiculous
  • 3 0
Absolutely Man'on it, both fingers crossed that it follows through to tomorrow's race.
  • 4 3
 Danny for the win tomorrow.
  • 3 2
 what happened to ratboy ?
  • 4 0
 stopped for a line check
  • 1 0

  • 2 1

  • 1 0

  • 1 0

  • 2 1
I still got ratboy or danny down for the win
  • 1 0
Awebo lorena dromundo en top 25
  • 1 0
Do the male and female juniors race in the same cat?
  • 1 0
 No
  • 2 0
There's no separate junior women category at World Cups - they just race with the senior women. There is a separate cat at World Champs though (which Manon won back in ChampĂ©ry 2011).
  • 1 0
How many do actually qualify for finals?
  • 2 0
The top 80 fastest times qualify for the men. There are more than 80 riders in the final though. That's because any rider that is top 20 overall in points is protected and will automatically qualify, even if they have they have a problem on their qualifying run and finish with a time outside the top 80.
  • 1 0
Ratboy near the bottom, did he go down or have a mech?
  • 1 0
Jacob Dickson - 85 kph in speed trap.... What!!!!
  • 1 0
Troy's paid his dues, now hes due a win.
  • 1 0
 Ratboy qualifying 152nd?!! what happened?!!!
  • 1 1
 smith. gwin .hart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah
  • 1 0
 No peaty and ratboy??.
  • 1 0

  • 2 0
