So, if Mavic are out, what wheels and kit do you think Jerome will be running next year?

Companies take note, that is how you announce team changes, nice to see him leaving on good terms!

Good point...most are anticlimactic or down right rude. very well done.
  • 13 8
would be sick to see DT swiss come out with a full wheel/tire setup (like mavic) more companies should do this.

Pretty sure there was a ''Farewell'' video when Sam Hill left Specialized too.
  • 5 1
 That's class
  • 2 0
That's right...it will go a long way with his new sponsors!
  • 11 3
Trek World Racing, are you listening?

Some people neg proped makripper for his comment, but i agree with him. Whats wrong with having more options?
  • 2 2
@Kieran-Young yeah, it was the promo vid for the carbon demo hahaha

Sram I think.. it´s make sense.. Sram have been doing a great job with the transmission and brakes essentialy but in the wheels area it´s hard to watch an important rider with the Sram Roam enduro wheels for example and I think Sram need to be far in that area to get more visibility at global level.
  • 8 1
Brand new wheel company: Clementz Carbon.
  • 12 11
SRAM great job on brakes really? If it wasn't for OEM they wouldn't exist - at least their new guide brakes have the resevior where it should be. Might not need bleeding every five minutes. Forks and drivetrain though are good.
  • 7 1
Have you actually used SRAM Roam wheels? I use Roam 50 on my new bike, the rear hub uses DT240 internals and are every bit as good as my old Mavic Crossmax SX wheels of my last bike. It also uses SRAM Guide RS brakes which so far are out performing my Shimano XT brakes from my other bike
  • 3 4
well.. about the brakes point... It´s true that in this case, Shimano in general terms did a better job in the brakes area (HOPE included as well)
  • 4 2
They have finally made the resevoir the highest point in the system ? Only took 10 years of trial and error !
  • 2 1
Exactly as an engineer it is infuriating...form over function I think.
  • 29 2
Guys, it's so clear. SRAM already named their wheels after him. Guaranteed that he will be riding Jey-ROAMs next year.
  • 1 2
Hard to say who. Would Industry Nine be totally impossible? Maybe Enve, SRAM, DT Swiss...?
  • 1 2
Derby? Or is that ridiculous? If I owned Derby, I'd offer him (a big chunk of) shares in the company and take Derby to the next level.
  • 12 1
Already RS fork instead of headshock, wouldn't be surprise if he is going full SRAM next year
  • 8 0
funny how everyone is only talking about the wheels, i have the feeling that he has been sponsored by other clothing, shoe, and bag companies, and mavic would want him on all their products in 2015. so my guess he will be wearing TLD gear and 5.10 shoes with sram wheels.
  • 11 1
That yellow gear was so connected to him. Sad I won't see it next year.
  • 6 2
SRAM for wheels. Seems pretty simple. Maybe WTB for tires like the rest of C'dale if they pay him enough. He'll just need to score some Time/mavic pedals and some different clothes/shoes/pack.
  • 5 0
 ...
  • 2 0
 he used Shimano XTR pedals
  • 13 6
Something that doesn't use a 23mm internal rim width?
  • 30 0
And yet it didn't seem to hold him back too much...

Fightening to think how fast hes gonna go next season with proper sized rims that he wont have to babysit
  • 17 2
Yeah those 19 and 21mm rims he's been using must be terrible.
  • 3 3
They are actually. If he wasn't paid to ride them and given a infinite supply of replacements I'd bet my house he wouldn't use them. The fronts okay the rear is a joke
  • 1 0
He raced on Crossmax ST's instead of SX before the Enduro set came out. So I don't know man, he is obvious ok with the width. Sure he get's free wheels who cares, but they have to last the race.
  • 1 0
Sure they will last the race but won't be using it again after that. There strong enough not to implode but there still knackered after . He also weighs nothing and has amazing line choice and skill. It's more down to him than the wheels. I couldn't get 10mins out the buggers. Notice how they brought out the XL version a year later....
  • 4 0
Maybe he's going WTB like the rest of the Overmountain team? Doesn't make sense as he seems to pick each sponsor carefully but on a corporate level makes sense.
  • 7 3
...well....something that doesn't taco at the first drop and where a replacement spoke doesn't cost 5 EUR a pop, I'd recommend... Wink

He'll be on SRAMs best wheel they have this year and then he(Clementz) and SRAM will develop a new wheel for 2016. Or they may speed the process up and get it done before the 2015 EWS race season starts. I think it may have been SRAM that told Jerome he needs to be on all of their product not Mavic. He all ready has a signature bar from SRAM/Truvativ he may end up with a pair of signature wheels as well.
  • 4 0
He said you have to be 100% with Mavic so I guess its some kind of deal where he mix and matches wheels and kit?
  • 2 0
I took as he was talking about being involved in the development and with racing EWS getting real serious he need to focus more on preparation. Anyways it will be interesting to see what will happened. This was a good look for both Clementz and Mavic!
  • 1 0
I would love to see him thrashing some Enve's around (and it would tie in with dale's bike specs) but it's probably SRAM. I'm kinda more interested with who he's signing with kit though! It sounds like he had a big hand in developing the latest shoes and clothing with Mavic and I love my Crossmax spuds...
  • 1 0
SRAM Wheels, to complete the SRAMized Jekyll, if not maybe the same with the OverMountain Team (hopefully using the WTB carbon wheel used by team member Jason Moeschler at Crankworx) or the Enve/DTSwiss by CFR MTB Team.
  • 2 1
Round wheels for the win! So he is in a position now to make the companies come after him and thinking of the future when he retires and will be Mavics head of development!!
  • 1 0
Considering how he doesn't shift his wheels why not oval?
  • 3 1
He's still a professional and aware of his image. Huge props to Jey for having kind words for Mavic even as he's leaving.
  • 2 1
I'm sure his new wheels will be... round. And let the speculations begin if new wheels make him faster/slower/rader/smoother...
  • 2 0
that was a nice goodbye, as it should be!
by the way he sure likes to crash on his right shoulder Big Grin
  • 1 0
I think he could of been developing his own brand for clothing/apparel.

Would love to see him go with my local manufacturers HOPE for wheels and components.
  • 1 0
Great send off vid, Jerome has some pretty impressive results and some crazy dismounts too Wink guess he's on a full Sram deal now
  • 2 1
Cannondale does have a great OEM and team relationship with ENVE... And enve has been on a spending spree lately.
  • 5 1
yeah... because people buy 3k dollar wheels...
  • 1 0
 Roam. Semi-official info.

For the rest (shoes, clothing, bags and tires) I have no idea.
  • 1 0
So he's not only "no wheeler" but also naked, no helmet and no shoes. Mein Gott!
  • 1 0
SRAM Rail wheels. dont ask me how i know Smile
  • 2 0
 Pure class!
  • 1 0
Very classy ending from both sides.
  • 1 0
Class: this video has lots of it. Unlike a lot of hip hop music videos.

 Stan's NoTubes!
  • 1 0
 1. Sram 2. Enve 3. WTB
  • 1 1
 Fulcrum Wheels, I guess?
  • 2 3
I also think ENVE may be up to it.
  • 1 1
It's not a question of which company is "up to it" as you say... if Mavic products worked for him then he really can't take a step backwards regardless of which major company he goes with.. the top of the line product offerings are just that good.
  • 1 0
All the rest of the cannondale riders are on enve so it would make sense that he continues the relationship with the rest of the team. However since jey is one of the best, he also gets the rights to use which ever parts he thinks are the best ( hence the pike fork rather than the lefty)
  • 1 0
He is also a SRAM blackbox athlete which means that he has to use a SRAM Pike fork by contract
  • 1 0
up to it is the question. Not all companies can support a big time athlete like Jerome. ENVE may be up to it.
  • 3 5
I'd leave my wheel sponsor too if they made me contractually obliged to ride sub-standard tyres
  • 3 0
He's still faster than all of us here, substandard tires or no.
  • 5 0
What, the tyres that he helped develop? Maybe you're just not good enough to ride those tyres Wink
  • 3 5
is he going for sram? lets hope so
  • 22 1
 Let's HOPE so.......
  • 5 1
oh woops sorry i genuinely did not mean that
  • 2 2
 Did you mean Whoops?
  • 2 0
