Press Release: The Shred Athletic Society

The Shred Athletic Society Scholarship Program was estabilished by Wade Simmons and David Drummond to provide financial support for local, amateur, up-and-coming mountain bikers so that they can more easily achieve their goals. The annual recipients will be selected by bike industry veterans including Wade Simmons.

Several $4,000 mountain biking scholarships are up for grabs!

We are excited to open up this opportunity for those 25 years and under. We are looking for capable, goal-oriented individuals that love mountain biking. The candidates must not already be supported by another charity and must show financial need; the funds will be dispersed as a 50% reimbursement for eligible expenses. All entries need to be postmarked no later than March 15, 2020.

Think you're a good candidate? Click here to download the application form. GOOD LUCK!

The winners will be announced at The Shred Society Gala on April 18th, 2020. The dinner will be held on April 18, 2020 at Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver. It will be an exciting evening featuring Adam Woodall, and we will announce the recipients of the Shred Scholarships.

The Shred Athletic Society was established by Wade Simmons (Professional rider, Red Bull Rampage winner and inductee into the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame) and David Drummond (big hearted, non-professional rider, lover of all things mountain biking). Both Wade and Dave have immense passion for the sport and are grateful to be able to work together to create a memorable day on the mountain and to raise money for a great cause.
