Wow, Maes looked fast and controlled going through there. (At least I think the last person through was him)

He made the most jagged rocks look like bike park berms all weekend.
  • 12 2
he did exactly what I thought people should be doing, taking the top rock and clearing to the bottom ha

 @Jokesterwild: so easy right?
  • 9 0
The only one that cleared it.

@zoobab2: Yeah. The only one to not touch that last rock!

Must be the wheel size combo.

There’s a rock slabby thing (which you can’t see in the videos) which makes boosting the whole lot near impossible.

Could anyone else hear the cowbell ?

@Jouber: when did I say it was easy?

@Jokesterwild: No kidding! So much smoother/faster avoiding all that arm/leg/suspension energy in the vertical plane. He avoids that and keeps momentum going down fall-line. Compare his exit speed after landing.. Multiply that efficiency over several rocky stages .... and you're wheel size doesn't matter lol!

Agreed, instead of bloop-bloop, he went BLOP!

that's how it's done! no throwing full cans of beer (what a waste) or batteries (what kinda a--hole does that?) just good times and lotsa noise.

On a side note, after Tokyo 2020, 'maybe' Jolanda Neff could shift her attention to the EWS. She already has the endurance and technique.

Vital is reporting some interesting news HERE

I saw that earlier! I always knew she could ride an XC bike downhill better than her competition, but this solidifies that fact even further.

After a couple months on the AM bike she would demolish the EWS.

hey soo uhhh... is that an easy drop? Because they really make it look easy. I have a feeling I would roll up to it, stop... then do that again 5 more times and maybe roll down it scared as hell.

The best bit is that was a small crowd compared to most sections! Tassie getting it done.

@ColquhounerHooner: Freakin Banana Benders you are kidding!

Classy hecklers rock. I like solid cheers and clapping rather than drunken slobbering antics that distract from the event. Keeping it classy Derby.

Just shows how strong bikes are made now, that is quite a G-out?
  • 3 0
Yep. Back in the day G-outs would bend cranks.
