American Chloe Woodruff made a break for it early in the Nove Mesto Short Track race and was able to carry the momentum to her first ever World Cup victory for the women. Annie Last edged out Jolanda Neff for second at the line, with Neff taking third in a photo finish ahead of Kate Courtney.

Mathieu van der Poel was also able to ride away from the pack early and despite the efforts of the chase pack, led for several laps by Canadian Peter Disera, he was able to take his second win of the season in the XCC. Maxime Marotte and Henrique Avancini rounded out the men's podium in another tight sprint to the line ahead of Nino Schurter.

How awesome was that camera angle at the bigger drop on the xcc yesterday. It really showed the speed of those riders and how close together they were. So cool!

All the camera angles are amazing on this race. This is really the best of the calendar, and the ATV moving along the riders on the climb, really crazy.

Back in 92 I started xc biking and did a couple races, then my main goal was to get as much air as possible, that trend went on and will never end for me, however, xc racing has been so amazing lately!!! It's definitely reminding me where I come from, and I love it!

Could we get team names/sponsors after the names on the captions? No problem on the solo shots; but I've no idea who Marotte races for (until it became a little more obvious later) - for example.

It was fun to see MvdP ride Nino off his wheel from the front position. He is a beast!

Why is Chloe wearing her national team jersey and everyone else has their sponsor/ trade team kit on? It's like she's dressed for World Championships.
  • 8 0
I believe it’s because USA Cycling is supporting some of our Olympic hopefuls this season. Keegan Swenson and Lea Davison are also wearing the stars and bars.
  • 6 1
It's not a national championship jersey. Team USA (Cycling) is her team; same as Lea Davison. USAC offers support for athletes who aren't on factory teams. Other countries have been doing it for a while, notably Switzerland (you'll always see some Swiss jerseys).
