Capitalism is not metal. Brutal yes, metal no.

I guess Iron Maiden isn't metal thanks to Ed Force One and everything else they've slapped their logo on over the years.
  • 4 0
Well then neither is Iron Maiden. They had to sign off on this lol

Any pop music (and Metal and Punk are pop) has been inextricably linked to Capitalism since day one. You want music that isn't capitalist-maybe some Bartok or Krzysztof Komeda's jazz, or if you've gotta be metal all the time, Anvil.

@bman33: Steely Dan from Yokohama bike wear would be Metal AF........
  • 2 0
@bman33: Warrant. LOL. My wife had some old hair band CDs still in her collection when we started going out. I teased her about Warrant only a few nights ago.

Odd to see that @melonoptics have time to do this, but no time to respond to any of my 4 separate emails to discuss issues with their glasses. They seemed happy enough to chat before I gave them money, once they had it, total silence.

Caveat emptor I guess.....

Rather than gimmicks it would be good to see them make glasses to suit a wider range of face/nose shapes. They don't fit 3/5 of my male riding partners or any of my wife's female riding buddies so they seem to be missing a trick. But hey, ageing rockers, yeah?
  • 6 0
Hey, bummed to hear about this experience especially as we try to be really on it with our Customer Service. I've dm'd you to discuss and hopefully we can identify the issue and get to the bottom of this. Thanks
  • 4 0
Surprised to hear that, been really good to respond to me, gave me a discount voucher to replace glasses i lost in a crash. They do make the AlleyCat S which is a smaller fit, might suit your wife and her friends.

@melonoptics: I tried to leave a review on your site but since i got my glasses so long ago the link doesnt work anymore so ill just leave it here

I've had my allycats for like 3 years now, the Zeiss lenses are fantastic, im still on my original pair and theyre still doing well, although i'd like a tinted or mirrored lense for low light conditions because then ill look cool while bumbling down the trail.

as for the glasses themselves, the nose piece started falling off within 3 months of owning them, i glued it back on and its been fine since, but it'd be nice for that not to happen. other than that the build quality is good, they're still feeling really good and nothing else has broken and fallen off.

the fit. they knocked against my giro switchblade and it was annoying, now i've got a fox speedframe and they dont knock anymore. i didnt think it was a big deal at the time but the fit of the glasses leaves quite a big gap between the lower edge of the lenses and my face and i get so much crap in my eyes because of it. i was finally prompted to find the "leave a review" email last week when i got such a big chunk of mud in my eye it blacked out my vision as it was going in and my eye was so irritated the next day that my vision was misty.

Overall its nothing you cant fix, i would buy another pair if they fit my face despite the nose pad falling off.

@GumptionZA thanks for the feedback. Really appreciate you posting it and hope your healing up all ok!

We actually updated the nosebridge a couple of years ago now and it’s way more solid now. Please shoot us a message via our website and we can sort you out with an updated version

Rock music appears to be a fashion item. With them being British, it would have been nicer to have made a Carcass version instead. With their Surgical Steel album being ten years old now, it would be perfect to have "Noncompliance to ASTM F899-12 Standard" across the gloves. I've got big paws.

Licenced Iron Maiden road kit exists...

@boozed: The Primal Maiden road jerseys are very, very nice. Number of the Beast is "Elite Fit", so very trim. Killers jersey is a little roomier. I'd actually say the Number of the Beast jersey is the nicest finished jersey I own-GF got it for me and I was skeptical (Primal stuff in the past has been meh) but it's beautifully finished.

Can't they just release the Strap separately?
  • 11 3
The strap and the rest of the goggles are designed to work together to provide the best performance. The strap by itself just doesn't deliver the level of protection these quality products are designed to provide.
  • 15 0
an iron maiden strap-on? i'll tell my gf to get the bacon grease ready.
  • 1 0
 What is this paintball…
  • 1 4
@vinay: Written like a true corporate shill.
f*ck that, we both know this ain't the case. The only important thing is the width of the slit, where you put in the strap, and the width of the strap itself. Don't f*cking patronize the consumers to deflect pro consumer sentiment.
  • 10 0
@A1990ToyotaHilux: Thank you for reaching out. Your kind suggestions will be forwarded to the top class R&D department who are riders themselves. Even though we strongly discourage to wear the strap without lenses under the demanding conditions these goggles are designed to perform at, you'll be happy to know that we've just sent out our junior test rider with a wrap-around strap with full UV-protection. If it proves to be successful (that is, if our junior test rider returns to our high tech facilities), we won't hesitate to bring our bleeding edge tech to the market. Don't forget to follow our channels and be the first to know! Again, thank you for your input and don't hesitate to get back to us should you have more questions, suggestions and/or compliments.

@savagelake: Thank you for your suggestion. To meet our sustainability goals, we're currently experimenting with the vegan option but unfortunately performance is still sub-par. This paired with the limited retaining capability of our strap due to the high-end elastic nature led to a frequent loss of accessories which implied we had to keep our experiment on hold until the next batch of accessories arrives. We're happy to learn from your experience in the mean time, good or bad. In case of complaints or issues, please provide a clear and complete description of the issue you experienced during your use of our products.

@Mr-Gilsch: I mean, fair in retrospect. But this wasn't even as bad, as some other unironic corporate ass sucking people I've seen in the past.

Right? I saw a person wearing a collab/knockoff T-shirt that had Beyonce's face in the goat head inside the pentagram from the cover of Venom's Black Metal album. I asked if they listened to Beyone - "No". Do you know the band Venom? "No". People will wear anything without a care in the world what it means.
  • 2 3
@suspended-flesh: That's the problem: People dont know anything and do everything for trend. I hope in a couple of years no one will ask if that "iron maiden" brand makes things for enduro.
