Round two at Granby Ranch was a stark contrast from the first at Buffalo Creek. The only similarities being late afternoon rain and the attendance of over 200 racers. There was no lack in gravity, tech, or raw terrain. Things that were in short supply included pedaling and traction. The one day race had five stages, four in Granby's rowdy bike park, and two in the backcountry. The day started out with a journey start to the top of the bike park. Stage one brought the flow, a great warm up to what was coming. Heating things up, stage two, on Cheez-it was littered with baby head sized rocks and some loose sandy turns. Stage three was a blind stage and the promoters kept racers in the dark until the last minute. Three was the longest and most scenic stage of the day, dropping off the back side of the resort with view of Rocky Mountain National Park. After a lift transfer back to the top of the park racers had a short pedal to stage four. This one was raw with fresh cut powerline sections linking into an old school trail. Unsupported turns and the off camber woods section challenged every rider. After a quick transfer to the lift the final stage would round out the day on one of the most difficult trails in the park.

"blind" stage... even though I saw 4 of the top riders rode this "blind" trail the day before the race on strava

Should work on your fitness if you're complaining about pedaling.
