I bet that Zinks dog has seen some stuff.

I'm sure lots of it was quite ruff.

@sachamtbdhrida: PB is over the puns mate, you're barking up the wrong tree
  • + 7
 he's the mutts nuts
  • + 18
Put a leash on it guys.
  • + 36
I really appreciated it basically being a great short film with a Michelin memo at the end, more companies should advertise like that.
  • + 8
Seemed lke a whole lot subliminal messages to me
  • + 5
@thebigschott: Buy a YT with Michilen tires. Then take your hound for a downhill round.

I'm heading overseas soon and have been stressing about stoke and how to fit it in my carry-on; and then I see 'mini-horns'.
Holy f*ck!!!!!!! So portable I could get them in my pocket. As a matter of fact... I'm taking 2 pair.
BRING ON THAT HOLIDAY!!!!!! MINI HORNS FTW!!!!
  • + 3
My keyboard seems to have a profound lack of stoke! Only regular sized horns Frown

Great video! Kinda funny to have a video advertising tires where the rider spends 90% of his time either in the air or sliding around past the amount of traction the tires offer...lol
  • + 6
Good Advert for Michelin having one of the best Freerider in the World but what can the tire that schwalbe conti and maxxis cant? Explaining technologys or something else would be interesting but just throw a 0815 tire on a shredder doesnt make it a good tire...
  • + 7
I agree with you, but their sales will go up anyways with Zink on their team
  • + 4
Im riding Michelin now and was riding Maxxis before, Michelin are way more predictable at high speed just sayin.
  • + 2
@BTKMADDOG: I was running Wild Grip'R 2's before I got my new rig. Some of my favorite tires.
  • + 3
had numerous issues with Conti's and the casing deforming - Cam wouldn't ever be able to complete a run with those tires
  • + 5
 what's a 0815 tire?
  • + 0
@cyclo-maniac: a run of the mill tire
  • + 14
The problem with Schwalbe is they use whipped cream as a rubber compound and they only last half a day in the Alps. Michelin on the other hand has come out with two tires that put the Magic Mary and DHF to shame. The Rock'r and Grip'r are seriously great tires. I am a tire geek who has been a Maxxis fan boy the last 15 years. Schwalbe just sucks, good grip but I've had orgasms that have lasted longer.
  • + 5
To be more clear the Rock'R2 has more Straightline grip, braking grip, micro grip, more stable at high speeds and corners better than a MM/DHF. Plus they roll faster. Just better, period.
  • + 3
@Boardlife69: I am running the RockR2 because of the grip and durability. I live in Arizona where most of the trails are dry and rocky. It's too expensive to spend $65 to $100 per tire that may only last a couple of runs.
  • + 1
The Michelin DH16 was the best tire ever. Most durable compound (I rode it for 2 seasons, no joke), perfect grip in all conditions, UST, only a little on the heavy side.
But Michelin cancelled it like 7 years ago and never came back to it`s glory days.
Hope this is going to be the long awaited comeback.
By the way, Michelin, can you please make your motocycle tires less wobbly?
  • + 2
@mazze: less wobbly? Pilot powers are about the best there are...
  • + 1
@jdendy: Purchased a set of these on sale RockR2 reinforced 29x2.35" magic front gum x rear for $45.00 USD each when they first came out last year. I took off a mountain king and x king combo 2.4" and the Michelins dwarfed these. Such a sick looking tire! Super tight bead, sealed up tubeless on a sram rise 60 wheel!! (not that easy btw) Most of my current riding is not gravity fed, so it was crazy how much grip these had compared to Conti. sounds like peeling tape off the asphalt when rolling. Areas where the conti's would coast for days, these did not, but on the dirt, crushed granite, loose rock, crazy grip and stable. No tire roll at low pressures and feel like you could roll over a cactus without penalty. I put these on when its gravity fed time. Haven't tried Wild or Racer yet. The RockR2 says 1150g, Conti X King RS is like 550g 2.4", so twice the weight, and defenately noticed pedaling. Too aggressive for majority of my riding unfortunately. my 2 cents
  • + 1
@sjdeweese: yes they roll slow but most of my riding is on aggressive trails.
  • + 6
ZINK is class good promo video ,about time michelin got some new rubber on the tracks and trails as they were allways one of the best tyres you could buy back in the day ,u dont see much from them these days!! maby that will change ,maby look into getting a set lol
  • + 8
As a bike snob, I only ride Michelin tires at places rated one star or greater
  • + 7
 Well, that was certainly awesome
  • + 3
The ad on the front page with the quote "so pumped to have michelin tires mounted to my bikes" - I wonder if the pun is intended based on the fact that every friggin' article here has a long-ass comment thread with terrible puns. If so, then kudos to the marketing team for knowing your audience. But shame on you for enabling those terrible pun-people though.
  • + 1
Everybody is tyred of the puns.
  • + 4
Ha, I got a boxer too Zink. He's dark brindle and my second one, had to put down my first big guy on January, worst day of my life.
  • + 4
Sorry to hear that, man! Frown
  • + 3
Wild rockr2 is the best tire out there now. Enduro type tire anyways. Been waiting for Michelin to have the Dh casing version out. Guessing we'll see it soon. Amazing side knobs and rubber. Grip and wear are both exceptional
  • + 1
I enjoy the video but I have to ask, Who is the feature here? Is it Cam or the random band playing the music? Why do I have to continually turn down the music (so as to not offend the people around me) and then not be able to hear what the featured rider has to say? I like the tune I just am not here to blast music.Just saying it should be the other way around.

I've been remodeling a house in Reno recently, and thought that I was driving past Cam's home everyday, but wasn't sure. I kept seeing that black truck with YT bikes and assumed it had to be his place. The start of this video proved my theory. Reno can be a small place.

Got to b one of the Raddest vids I've seen this yr (Brandon Semenuks redbull edit was the best)!!!!!!
  • + 2
Sick riding... but I'm not sure how much of a tire advertisement that was. Pretty much was a video of Cam not gripping the ground the entire time... Nice home spot cam. That drop in over the highway is rad.
  • + 4
Ah, I see a man who hasn't ridden Geiger then! There's three things about Geiger...
1. It's hella steep
2. It's hella loose
3. It's sick terrain that's covered in all sorts of features.

Reflecting on the first two I'd say that this video was actually pretty impressive display of grip by Mr Mini Horns. Don't believe me? Come on up and we'll show you around and go through a set of Magic Marys in 10 laps flat. Wink
  • + 3
@henkster: It was meant to be a compliment. He pretty much spent the entire time pinned. LOL!

I have no doubt that terrain is a tire killer. No doubt. Let me get my body back in check and I might take you up on your offer. The main part of that video, the trail and the features look sick. But no way in hell am I dropping that ridge line... not without a bunch of snow and a board on my feet. LOL! Actually reminds me of a line I put down in Utah at Powder Mountain this winter.
  • + 1
@onemanarmy: Yeeaah... that drop's on my "f*ck no" list too. IIRC Cam said he was sketched about that one on Facebook Big Grin It's a great winter spot. Ride your board in the AM and your big bike in the PM Wink
  • + 1
@henkster: Must be sketch if he got sketched. LOL.

Seriously though... lets do work this winter. HA!
  • + 1
In europe i like michelin tires. they're very good and they're very cheap. I can get 4 tires for the price of 2 from popular brands with no difference in quality. Makes it a no brainer.

In the US they're not expensive either but definitely not "cheap" though.
  • + 4
The only guy for who being loose means being in control...
  • + 2
Loose is fast. Loose is fun. Loose is just not for everyone.
  • + 2
All we need now are.. Michelin mtb tire commercals to go mainstream....yup! This could be a great start.
  • + 3
I might reconsider getting a tv again if that would happen
  • + 2
 @Mattin: I know,right!
  • + 3
 Scrrrrub-a-dub-dub-dub!!!!!
  • + 3
 Lovely looking dog

That was cool. I have my trail dog too. He is an animal. Check out one of my videos "Bruiser's drop" its cool
  • + 1
Me thinks he goes through a few of those michelins! Lots o roostin goin on. Nice!
  • + 3
 Nice and positive
  • + 1
When will these Prototypes be available to John Q Public? If the say Zink, I'll press Buy.
  • + 1
The tires he's using is the Wild Rock'r2 Advanced Reinforced. It says prototype because it's a new rubber compound he's testing out, but the same tires are already available in the usual hard and soft compound versions. I have a set of them on my bike, as long as the trails are dry they rule so hard it's not even funny.
  • + 1
@aerius30: i have these tires, too. do they really need a new rubber compound? they are so good as it is
  • + 2
Wow,first time i see a beaver in a MTB video.
  • + 9
 Nice marmot
  • + 3
@slayerdegnar: What are you, a park ranger now?
  • + 2
awesome mr zink! at 1:31 was it alan or steve?
  • + 1
Hate to ask but what's the song? Thanks!
  • + 1
a classy way that Michelin chose to put their brand out.
  • + 1
Is Cam on the 27.5" or custom 26" like Andraeu?
  • + 2
 he has both
  • + 1
Not a blatant advertisement at all
  • + 1
I'd love to have a beer with his wheel builder.
  • + 3
If you're ever in Reno, I can point you in the right direction...
  • + 1
 in two words, le gend
  • + 1
 one word, speez
  • - 2
why does he stay in reno? is the riding that good?
  • + 7
 probably because he likes it
  • + 10
 Yep, it is
  • + 5
If anything Reno is close to Northstar and South Tahoe which has awesome riding.
  • + 5
he says in the video, his home mountain gets less snow than the surrounding mountains, so he can ride most of the year
  • + 1
@xeren: Sure. Just go there June to August and try out the riding. You can cook your meals on the rocks!
  • + 3
@properp: Saves energy. Tahoe is only 45 minutes from Reno where its 80's and dry most of the summer. Lots of incredible riding all around the area. Its a really nice place to live, if you like great riding, climbing skiing and shit.
  • + 3
The riding in the Reno/Tahoe area is world class. The region has a lot to offer and it isn't far from other amazing riding in the western US.
