Because I live in North Dakota where it gets -30 degrees and it's flat. Plus I am a stay at home dad and haven't been on a legitimate mtb ride in over a year.

I live in SoCal and its flooding, period. I need a brake from LIFE, Michelin help.

I'd like Michelin tires because my current rubber has been in use for years. It's got decent traction in the wet, but has a few punctures and is looking pretty beat. Also, my bike could use some new tires.

I'm a Santa Barbara local, Chef that works too much, and avid rider of our mountains. Think about it, you wouldn't have to provide accommodations, I know all the best trails, and could possibly cater the event. I'm just sayin.

trained for 12 months to participate in the BC bike race, only to be hospitalized 10 days before the race and be told by the doc that i wasn't gonna be able to go... bike was packed and shipped to canada already, the most grueling training i had ever done, riding 5 days a week in the humid southeast was miserable but i was putting in the work for the payoff.... and it was ripped away from me at the last minute. look up "gutted" in the dictionary and you will see my picture. that race was my life for a year, thought about it every day and the fun i would have Frown

Where to Start. Lets see my dad is a drug addict. He was in and out of rehabs my whole life, Didnt figure out he was my dad till age 8. So Fast Forward to losing my home at age 23. Where he stopped paying for the mortage and taxes, So i took my life saves at this trying to keep our family home with my Mom brother and sister to have place to live. Blew it all 25k couldnt save house.
During this time I had a Opps baby ( best thing in world tho never will change that) SO lost house and having a kid with zero savings at this point good timing. So found a apartment for my us, while he was gone in his 10 or 20th rehab. Soon after had our kid, Got a place of my own with my wife and kid. Let my mom sister n brother say in apartment and paid for the rent for 4 months to help them, Well they lost the apartment... after a year, Had find them new place.
So lets step forward more My wifes Jeep Engine Dropped a random Rod in it. Replaced the engine.. And guess what new engine blows up 1 year after warrent will not cover it. So now looking for a new car, while my wife is finishing school.
Its not all bad, I have a wonderful wife and kid, She surprised me with a New bike after my POS craglist 300 talus sport died, Got a trek Fuel Ex 7, kid is on the fast track of advaced classes and skipping 1st grade alreay, Lots of help from the inlaws also, But yeah i feel like every day of 8-6 job, side jobs and bills i could use a break,

I'm a Dad, work a gov't job for the retirement, founded & operate the nonprofit Bikin' Dads Adventures (www.BikinDads.com), during the Spring & Summer I cut lawns to pay for toys aka bike stuff & fund the nonprofit & lastly co-own operate an e-commerce business catered to outdoor products...Do I have time for this trip, heck yea I can call in sick for sure!

My cousin lives in California and his 6 month old daughter has had two open heart surgeries. I was down for a recent visit and MTB trip to see them. She's finally healing up and putting on some much needed weight. Trust me when I tell you the girl now looks like a mini version of the Michelin Man. It's adorable. Moral of the story - Michelin is family. If I win I'd like to gift it to my cousin so that he can get some much needed time out on the trail.
  • 4 2
Well my room mate just burned our apartment accidentally. Which made it so that my girlfriend and I are homeless. We are still doing as good as any homeless person could be. I am always positive and it would be great to get to ride and learn from some pros.

Hark! Because let us heave high the sky's scaffold of lightning, the sun's blazed and bent-over butt cleavage bared atop riding shorts bent tight in downward dog in prostrate praise to the trail, fair son of tall cold pints and true spokes and shorn knee caps that shall henceforth be pillowed and padded from harm by buttermilk biscuits laced with honey and propelled into the brief glory of intimate woodland rodents, soft dollops of warm rain on windy days, roman candles sent skipping across calm lakes, handfuls of blueberries, bottlecaps, M&Ms, boobies, and a 40-grit beltsander for any and all rough patches we may encounter on those future days of shredding, of shralping, of bermslipping and sandblundered corners!

I work a 9-5 in dallas, where there is almost zero elevation change and hard to find interesting trails. I've got two kids of my own and fostering to adopt 3 more. 4 kids under the age of 5, and a 12 yr old. The time and money to go on fun riding trips is long gone and will be until the kids are grown up and mostly on their own. This would be the trip of a life time for this guy who just loves to ride.

Well I don’t really think I deserve this as I really can’t complain on how things have been going for me, but none the less a couple days spent with some really rad dudes would definitely be incredibly memorable, so here I go. I'm somewhat relatively new to riding and only have about a year under my belt, but have fallen in love with it and have really progressed to a level I couldn't believe (by no means am I very good, I just improved at a much quicker rate than I expected). The issue is that I'm currently pursuing an engineering degree, which as I'm sure quite a few of you guys know, it is extremely demanding and riding has definitely taken the back seat. I try to ride at every given possible moment, but not nearly as much as I would like to (a bit of a stupid reason, as I know about 99% feel the same way). Riding has never been so much for me and it kills me to be getting better, but with less time each week to do it. So yea, this would wouldn’t definitely be great break from things and would be an awesome mini vacation as I wouldn’t have a second thought on putting things aside to come out for what sounds like an incredible time! Again though, cant complain about a single thing, but if someone throws me an opportunity to ride with some incredible pros, I gotta at least try for it!

I am a 50 year old man who lives in katchacan Alaska and wants to go somewhere new considering I have never left this town in my whole life and the trails I ride are the homes of wolves and grizzlies I have been mauled 3 times just trying to roost a berm out in the woods. Pretty sooon i will be 69
  • 1 0
I deserve a break because these drought busting rains are really cramping my style. Plus I'd be stoked to try the newest Michelin tires. I ran the Wild Grippers in the past, sweet!! Furthermore Santa Barbara is awesome! Q

It started a long time ago in a State far, far away. As a youngster, less than 10 years old, I found dirt trails, grassy roads and game trails through-out our Town Forest. A great place to ride a 3-speed Columbia! Fast forward to 1987, almost 35 years later, and while having my Fuji road bike serviced at the LBS, I noticed these knobby tired bikes! Fully rigid, but able to ride woods trails much better than that Columbia of my youth. A whole new life opened up, good by Fuji. Now, 30 more years and riding a full squish over features I would have loved at age 10, I am still in love with these knobby tires. Mountain Bikes have evolved by leaps and bounds, giving us the freedom to act like kids, explore new worlds, and boldly go..to many metaphors! Over the past few years, tires are evolving to keep up with these spectacular bikes. Better grip, better handling, grippier rubber, multipurpose rubber, life just gets better and better. Why me? All the usual answers. in addition, maybe because I can add a unique point of view to this launch. Having ridden 1.7's, 1.9s, original wider tires, and seen the sport and industry grow. Plus its always nice to have that "grandpa" around for laughs! Thanks

I deserve a trip to the Michelin Tire Launch in Santa Barbra because I am genuinely interested in how the new Michelin Wild and Force tires will compare to Maxxis, Specialized, and Bontreager brands. Also, meeting Cam Zink would be a dream come true!
  • 1 0
I deserve to win because I really don't but i would like to win because this is my year to progress myself and my riding to the next level and make it to the pro ranks and this trip would be a great opportunity for me to push myself and ride with the best!

Ive been busting my butt working on some local trails all year after placing 1st and 2nd in my first ever dh races at the age of 30, all while working 40+ hours a week as a carpenter and still managing to spend time with my loving wife (who is 8m pregnant) and my (almost) 2 year old son who recently took to his own bike in the past couple weeks. He hasnt wanted to do anything else besides cruisin down the sidewalks and watch awesome new bike vids on pinkbike!
  • 1 0
I am a mountain bike convert from motorcycle road racing where I wouldn't think of running anything other than Pilot series tires! I have been running Wild Rock'r tires for years on the MTB and been getting made fun of by mountain bike riders for the "off brand tires" but have stayed true to my brand. I would love to see the emergence of a new force in mountain bike traction!
  • 1 0
ok so i ride the s12 tires on my enduro bike and dirt bike and race sumo and buy my michelin tires and accually run the michelin 16.5 superbike rain and slicks on my sumo i just started down hilling and would like to have michelin on my devinci wilson downhill bike also and my drift car and skyline has michelin also......just sayin

Doesn't say anything about covering the cost of plane tickets, just the taxi from the airport. If I have a some sob story about needing a break and not having money, how am I supposed to be able to afford plane tickets?
  • 1 0
I think i deserve this break because I just graduated from Virginia Tech with an engineering degree and am currently looking for a job. Being that I am unemployed and living with my parents right now, is tough but the last 4.5 years of schooling and internships has had its toll on my and in that time, i have not had the opportunity to travel. Although I have the "time" to travel now before picking up a full time job, I do not have the funds to do so and I think this trip would be an excellent experience for me to travel to the west coast as well as get out and ride! Hopefully this post makes its way to the eyes of one of the Michelin readers, thanks for taking the time to do so.

Two daughters with two marriages in as many years, two son-in-laws as different as night and day with one thing in common - both are army lieutenants, a daughter who also is an Army lieutenant, and a son in college making music videos on the side. Did I mention I just became a granddad? And my beautiful always on-the-go wife who still thinks I'm 20 (maybe 30)? Don't get me started. I need a break - badly!
  • 1 0
ACL reconstruction surgery in November. Working my ass off in PT to get back on a bike! (Went for my first ride last week and felt great! Stoked!)

Also it would be a pretty awesome story to tell my 7 month old Son someday as he grows up to love riding bikes as much as I do! Cheers!
  • 1 0
All things two wheels have been my lifelong passion in work and pleasure. Now with my first baby I am not chewing through the miles like my early 20's allowed but my biggest revelation is how valuable each ride means to me. That being said, the fewer opportunities I get to spend on the bike the more critical I am of my gear when it's time to ride because I can't afford the time to be let down. Also, I still wish to have the speed of my youth (or more) but have to find it in smarter ways.

after spending my last vacation planning and putting on a wedding for my daughter - i fell at work a few months later and tore my knee up before being able to take a vacation for myself. i am now ready for and deserving of a break

 Because I'm still on 26"

Well I deserve a break because of the fact that I am an enthusiastic rider who works in the industry and is in a constant finical battle as a younger American working class citizen, a father and someone who has never been able to go on a "vacation". I work 6 days a week and continue to work hard to better my community via mountain biking. It would be a dream to be able to get out of New England for a break! Cheers to who ever wins. I would love to be blessed with such a fun getaway.

Cheers,
Alex

Because I really want to meet the Michelin man before he quits due to the "pressure" he deals with every day.

Three years ago I sold my backup bike (a 2009 Knolly Delirium) in order to buy an engagement ring. A few months after that, newly wed in a new town, I had to sell my primary bike (custom 2013 trek remedy) just to make ends meet.

I live in Bend, OR, and I haven't had a bike in 3 years. Some mornings I wake up on a cold sweat with the sound of tires on hardpack, or the smell of PNW loam... fading from my senses.

My friends can't stand hanging out with me because all I want to talk about is the latest YT updates, and how many beer cans I'd have to collect from the ditch to buy the base model Capra.

The situation became so desperate this past season, I scrounged an old steel frame from a garage sale. I put on a transmission from a K2 cruiser, and jumped for joy when I found some SLX V-brakes at the local pick'n'pull. It has a 73* HA, and 510mm chainstays, but I shred that think like Kovarik down Whoops and Tyler's Traverse.

I started a bike-fund savings account over Christmas and told my whole family to just give me cash. I made it up to $400 before some unexpected bills came up this past month, and now I'm at $13.72. Add this to the fact I am currently in the middle of sleep training my 5 month son Joshua, and...

...I could really use a break.

After serving 20 years active duty in the military, Its an Honor to served this great country. It is not easy and it comes with all kind of sacrifices and one of them is the bike community.
Its a great Honor if I will be able to join in this EPIC experience of a lifetime and ride the new XC and AM tires before anyone else and meet and ride with Michelin team riders; Cam Zink, Gavin Godfrey, VictorKoretzky, Jordan Sarrou.

Big Thank in advance from me and my family.
  • 1 0
Because every year I pick a "theme" for the riding season. 2015 was the year of the climb (what was I thinking...), 2016 was the year of the tree ride and 2017 is the year of the road trips. This year it's all about exploring!
  • 1 0
Everybody deserves a break. For me it's been a combination of illness and having a baby that has messed up my fitness and ability to ride for a while. Winning a trip would be a great motivation and escape. I'm in Nor-cal so this would be a road trip. I will launch the shit out of your new tires.

Also, I'm a longtime fan of Bibendum, the Michelin mascot. Used to have stickers of him on my stuff since college. (Hard to explain...)
  • 1 0
I've been searching for my break into my dream industry for 6 months, and accepted a job offer today! I work two nights a week at a bike charity both to help the community and to learn to build wheels, so I deal with quite a few tires day to day. We repair bikes for homeless and less fortunate people and I would love to talk with Michelin about some sort of sponsorship, because we constantly need new tires. Check out Cycles For Hope on facebook, we could use any traffic or potential volunteers! Plus I finally got a wheelset for my xc bike that can run tubeless, so I would love to get some tires to set that up. I've been back and forth on what I want to use for a month now, so getting set up with some xc tires would be amazing.
  • 1 0
I want to ride my bike and we just got another 9 inches of snow on top of who know how many inches. Aside from that, I love to try out new tires and I'm easily convinced with whatever marketing propaganda is thrown at me and so I'll tell anyone that asks how I'm doing how awesome these tires are. I promise to perform a 3 pedal stroke wheelie if I'm picked as well(Tricks/style are good for marketing).
  • 1 0
I ran Michelins in DH Comp 16s in the early 2000s and still have one of them. I've been waiting to see what Cam Zink was developing with you guys so I can buy them. Finally, I want to suggest that if you are going to have another booth at the Sea Otter this year, please have some of the bitchen vintage Bibendum on a bike shirts for sale (that the crew was all wearing). I also have no facial tattoos and took French in high school. Zut alors.
  • 1 0
The first set of tires I bought for my mountain bike were a set of Michelins when I was in 7th grade. I remember how tight the bead fit was (so much so that I broke a set of tire levers trying to put them on). I rode them hard until the tread was completely gone and became a life-long bike fanatic ever since! Now I go to school an hour and half north of Santa Barbara and am in my last term of a mechanical engineering degree; I have worked my butt off to get this degree and this would be an awesome graduation trip!
  • 1 0
Because I have put in hundreds of hours at the gym ( cough cough bars and restaurants), hired a trainer (my wife is an excellent cook), ridden for hundreds of miles and signed up for dozens of races in order to look exactly like the Michelin Man ...and I love bikes.
  • 1 0
Michelin, this is your chance to get in on the ground floor of a major marketing movement. If given the opportunity I would love to introduce your new tires to the north jersey mtb scene, which as i am sure you are well aware, is on pace to replace BC as the mecca of mountain biking. It is not often an opportunity like this comes knocking and I realize it may seem too good to be true, a mirage in a desert of lost MTB market share, and... well... maybe it is. One way to find out.
  • 1 0
We actually do not deserve anything. Winning a material prize from a contest will never come close to winning an experience like this. I would be very grateful to win this awesome trip, having never touched foot in dirt on the west coast before. It would be even more awesome to do it with tires.
  • 1 0
I'd love to go to Santa Barbara I don't like snow I bought this house this house in Big Bear for 2 Reasons Mountain biking and fishing and right now there's this white stuff everywhere I love Michelin tires and would really like to go to Santa Barbara! Please, Please, Please pick me
  • 1 0
Not a complainer, but I work 6 days a week (5 for US gov't, and 1 at a LBS) to support my love of quality parts for my DJ, MTB and commutercross bike (uses protek urbans), so I don't get to travel much.

I am getting better at riding what I can locally, but I am looking to try out riding in a new atmosphere: something with hills the streets of DC can't offer. I would love to achieve this riding with you guys out in Santa Barbara!
  • 1 0
I just put a set of Michelin Defender XT's on my van and they have been amazing so far in the snow and on a long road trip to the SW and would be excited to try a new brand of tires on my mountain bike! I also have a Michelin Man sticker on my DH rig as a downtube protector because the logo is awesome! I'm pretty sure who ever goes will have a blast! Thank guys!
  • 1 0
Stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base about 45 minutes from Santa Barbara. I know the local trails and it would be amazing to try out the new tires on the Central coast. Big fan of Cam Zink and his riding/family life style.
  • 1 0
I'm planning on joining the Air Force in February and just wanted to know if you still have time to ride your bike and if so what AFSC do you have, I know with some AFSC you don't have time to ride much cause you're always training like TACPs and PJs which is what I plan to do if everything goes well and I can qualify for it
  • 1 0
@Geordiebautista: Depending on what AFSC you plan to do will definitely determine how much riding you will be able to do. No matter what you will have time for hobbies and biking. Even TACP and PJs have time. just probably not during initial training.
  • 1 0
Being a school teacher, I need a break from my relentless high school students who I also coach for NICA MTB racing. That and grading just plain sucks. Thanks for the opportunity.
  • 4 0
because there are no In and Out burgers on the East Coast.
  • 1 1
Married...kids...house...dog...career...pick your poison. Too be honest...I don't have any complaints...life is good. However, I am about as tied down with responsibilities as one can get. An impromptu riding trip to test out some new rubber...at a location I've never ridden...would be amazing.
  • 1 1
Well, I could write a lot but I don't see very high odds of me winning, so here is a little bit about me. I've always wanted someone to find me, and maybe this is my opportunity calling out to me. I live in a tiny town with a lot of trails, so what else would there be to do besides ride my bike? My mom always tells me about how I was riding a bike soon after I began to walk. When my parents would take me for bike rides, I would never be on the road. I'd be riding my tiny rigid BMX bike up curbs and on peoples lawns. They always cracked joked about how I might grow up to be a mountain biker, and look at me now! I've got an old 2002 Rocky Mountain Element Team XC Race bike with a Michelin Wild Grip'r on the front! Mountain Biking is easily my favorite thing to do. I've always wanted to race or maybe meet one of the pros that I look up to (especially Cam Zink). Being on a bike is where I feel at home, and that is why I think I deserve to go and ride with the Michelin Crew
  • 2 1
because Kansas is flat, the mountain biking here lacks. Its freezing cold all the time as well as a constant wind. School isn't fun but cruising around on some new rubber would be.
  • 1 1
Been riding for 10 years now! Haven't been able to travel much to go riding though, between full-time work, full time student, and wife. I would love to go ride in California, I live in Texas and the riding is good for Texas, but we don't exactly have mountains like most. Pick me please, I'm just a poor college kid that wants to rip on his bike in Santa Barbara!
  • 1 1
I need a break because all of my trails are covered in a foot of snow, also I bought my first pair close to the end of last season and only got to ride them twice, so I should get to go so that I can get a better feel for them
  • 1 1
I need a break because...well, not really because life is good. Good job, great wife, kids and granddaughter. I'm an older guy, 55 that hangs pretty well with the younger riders and have never been to California. It would be a lifetime experience I would never forget. Pick me!
  • 1 1
I'd just like to win a contest for once in my life. When I'm on my deathbed, I can think back to the time that I won that gnarly trip to the Michelin Tire launch in Santa Barbara. Also, I've never been West of Colorado, so that would be neat too.
  • 1 1
I believe i should go because I love mountain biking. I was just in California on break and didn't get to bike and was sad so if i can go back i would be happy. I have a dream to be a downhill pro in fontana and this would help me achieve this dream so please let me go. if you pick me thank you but that probably wont happen and i wish good luck to everyone else.thanks for the great contest and have a great day- sincerely misha
  • 1 1
I will make everyone else look like a rock star on the ride. I will finish every climb last. take the longest breaks and then hold everyone up on the downhills. I will also manage to hit my bars on every narrow bit and probably go over my bars for comic effect. I have been practicing this ever since I bought my new 780mm bars. I should buy a hacksaw...
  • 1 1
Live and ride in New York. Despite the current freezing temps, 0 daylight hours after work, snow, and/or mud I still MTB on a weekly basis. Would love to see what Santa Barbara has to offer, meet the team, and test out some Michelin tires both in CA and back in NY.
  • 1 0
I live in the flat Midwest and would kill for any kind of elevation whatsoever! Engineering jobs take a lot out of you...especially while going to college at the same time. Live free, ride hard, and get stoked!
  • 1 0
After kidney stones and medical bills and 2 months off the bike I am ready to go after it again. I cant afford a trip like this but it would be awesome to get out do something like this.
  • 1 0
School's worth it in the long run, but it sure sucks right now. I should be out roostin' the trails and enjoying the outdoors. Yeah, I think I deserve a chillax break fo' sho'
  • 1 0
Because i ride over 100 days a year XC and DH, and when you ride that much you need lots of fresh rubber! And who wouldn't want to go shred with some of the best riders around!
  • 1 0
Over worked, under-payed, you know the same old song and dance. Never enough time for bikes. Just want to hang with rads dudes while riding bikes and keeping the stoke high.
  • 1 0
I don't need a break any more than all these guys, but I'd certainly love to ride with the team and get more familiar with Michelin. As a trials rider, I could get more tech than just about anybody with them!
  • 1 0
I'm a father of 2 who, for 8 months out of the year, runs our local BMX track. Its extremely time consuming and I sure could use a break. But it's for the kids which makes out totally worth it.
  • 1 0
I deserve a break because I am taking 5 AP classes and have not been able to get out on the bike and just outside in general. Also because SB is super sweet and I have always wanted to get to know those trails.
  • 1 0
I didn't get a chance to ride for 7 months while I worked overtime to pay for my wedding. I have a lot of miles to make up for and the NH weather hasn't been overly friendly for fat bikes or trail bikes.
  • 1 1
Winning this would allow me to help others. I have had many wonderful successes and now I like to be around winners like Michelin. If I am given the chance to spend a day with this team I would learn and share with the huge growth of mountain biking in Nashville Tn. Win - Win!
  • 1 0
Haven't had a vacation in 12+ years, picked up and got addicted to mountain biking last February.... so now all I want to do is explore trails across the us and more, and rip'em
  • 1 0
I am sure there is a sob story somewhere, but all I want to do is give a break to my hubby of 25 years...he really needs to get away for awhile..simple..otherwise, life is pretty sweet!
  • 1 0
I deserve a break because my fiancé just finished his medical fellowship in palliative care, and I recently finished my clinical psych phd. While we love our careers sometimes its a bit overwhelming.
  • 1 0
The weather has been terrible, cold, icy, and snowing! I need a break! I have a severe case of Cabin fever! Does anyone know someone who has died from this! I don't want to be the first! Good luck to all!
  • 1 0
@michelinofficial I a a dual degree engineering major with a creative technologies minor and due to all of my classes I haven't been able to get out on the bikes. Please help a brother out I WILL WORK FOR FREE
  • 1 0
I need a break because it has been the biggest snow year in years. We have had over 5 ft in our yard for more than a month. It starts to melt and then here comes another storm. I need to go south so I can ride.
  • 1 0
I deserve a break because I am *SO TIRED* of insert current political cluster****> that I would like to get away from everything and have some fun! Just for a few minutes...then it's back to #RESIST

SO...MANY...REASONS!!!! School, work, work, work, stress, have never had a break, about to graduate so I NEED a break ASAP Smile !!!! Thank you so so sooooo very much this is so kind, generous, incredible, awesome opportunity!
  • 3 0
Because my daughter's spend all my money on school sports and leave none for my mountain biking.
  • 2 0
Cause I live in the mountains and we are buried in snow. I have rode my bike since November amd this could be the next time i ride!
  • 2 1
Because next to riding the next best thing is talking tires. Who doesn't love a good discussion of knob design, compounds, air pressure and which tire hooks up best on rocks and roots.
  • 1 0
It has been raining constantly here, and it would be great to get a bit of insider info as an outsider, and possibly test some new tires / tread patterns out while out on some new (to me) trails.
  • 1 0
Because I'm a tire nerd who doesn't stop talking pressures, compounds, and knob patterns. Also because I want to find out if the new Michelin tires are better than any other tires that I have ridden.
  • 1 1
It's been raining constantly here in atlanta, and I haven't been able to ride trails in weeks. It is cold, wet, and windy. I have been stuck inside a school, dealing with boring lessons and a teacher who is pointlessly strict. It is too cold and rainy to ride, but not cold enough for snow. I don't nesecarily need a break, but i could easily take one.
  • 1 1
I am getting much older and I know I only have a short time before I am no longer able to ride from injuries and I have raise a teenage daughter with limited time to ride and i only just started to ride park. So I am just trying to enjoy the last few years of any type of big mountain riding.
  • 1 0
It's my last rodeo too, but don't let kids, injuries, and poverty get in your way - that's normal stuff.
  • 1 1
I'm a college student who has been in school full time and worked part time for a while now, I finished school last fall and now work full time opening at a grocery store, usually 5am starts. I'm exhausted and where I live in northern California it's been snowing or raining 75 percent of the last 3 months or so I haven't had much of a chance to ride my bike like I'd want to. I need a break from work, bad weather and the same three trail systems I've been riding with no adventure since summer time.
  • 1 1
Lifelong rider, and my first mtb DHAKA tires were a set of Michelin Wild Grip'rs on a 1995 GT LTS DH that Nico Vuoilloz and Mike King were rising... oh how far things have come since then! I'd love a break because I captain an open clam harvesting dredge, no cabin, on a clam and oyster farm in Greenwich CT, for 60 hrs a week. The NE is pretty cold and bitter standing out in the wind everyday for 9 hrs on the water and another hour at the dock loading and unloading, and I'd love to warm up in Santa Barbara for a few days and ride some new trail, on some new tires, and make some new friends! Cheers all, good luck to everyone!
  • 1 1
 DH tires!
  • 1 1
Currently enduring the Minnesota winter, I'm a new dad with another on the way in August, so a trip to an amazing place I've never ridden before a few years of only local riding would be amazing. Cool opportunity, thanks for offering!
  • 1 1
I love tires. And you can never judge a book by it's cover. I need to try them! I have been watching bike videos, and then forced to go skiing/snowboarding my brains out due to the best winter in 30+ years where I live. My friends and I are fiending so hard to ride bikes, we are all investing in spikes to go freeride. Please send me somewhere I can ride dirt, and some awesome new tires! PS, my truck rolls on Michelin's too.
  • 1 0
I've never ridden down in the SC area so that would be a blast, esp since I'm up in the PNW over 30 days of nothing but rain and snow...would love some dirt and sun time, thanks!
  • 1 0
Well... I have a baby due the end of February so I'm sure the wife would be offended if I even mentioned going, but since my breast make no milk I don't see why I shouldn't go!
  • 3 0
Because I have been a loyal Maxxis customer. Now is your chance to change that.
  • 1 1
I AM The Michelin Man! First shredded on them to Win the Norba DH National in 1999 at 7 Springs aboard a Schwinn Homegrown Strait 6! I loved those tires then and would love to shred with the team in SB aboard my new bike. There are lots of deserving folks looking to win the prize package, but I AM the Michelin man!
  • 1 1
There's snow on the ground, I'm tired of it. I want to ride damn it. I'm getting old & fat waiting around for spring/summer. I have family in Southern Cal & it would be nice to see them...after I go biking of course! Gotta have your priorities right! Cheers!!!
  • 1 1
New father(4 month old daughter), haven't been riding much, would love to go on an epic mtb tire testing trip! Love traveling to go mountain biking, been to whistler twice, used to do summer mtb roud trips before the wife and kid.
  • 1 1
Here it goes... I'm a high school counselor so I work with kids all day, and I am a father of 4 daughters. Yes, 4 girls. And soon they will be teenagers. I might be able to stop now and possibly win, but I'll keep going. On Saturday mornings when everyone else is out shredding I am sitting in the middle school gym watching 3 of my girls do cheerleading for elementary school basketball. Watching little kids play basketball is torture enough, but when they aren't your kids it's even worse. And on top of that I'm really there to watch cheerleading. It's not just for one game either, it's two games in a row! I think next year I will try to pay them to play basketball instead, just don't tell my wife that.
  • 1 1
because my work is insane and long hours and its slowly withering away at my soul until only a hollow shell of a man remains. where once stood a beacon of shining hope and aspiration, only despair and gloom now live. (also, Canada Air lost my bike for the first 3 days of what was supposed to be an epic British Columbia bike trip last year and broke my heart). also, Trump is president now and i live in DC, so there's that eternal darkness forever looming now. and its been raining the last 3 days with 45mph winds. and my friend's dog got cancer. but hey look on the bright side, its only Monday...
  • 2 0
I deserve a break because Utah is having the biggest winter in years, and the wife and I just had to sell all of our ski gear to buy our dog a new knee.
  • 1 0
I'll use the kids and work reason, but with a twist. My 11 and 8 year old love to shred trail and this would make them jealous...unless you want them down there, too, testing tires.
  • 1 0
I could use a break because as badly as I want to, I couldn't afford to go myself. Riding is my passion and this muddy Kentucky weather is keeping me from getting out there. A trip to California?! I must be dreaming.
  • 1 1
I am a poor college student that never has money/time to go on vacations unless I sleep in my car the whole time and eat rice and beans for the trip. Also this would just be bad ass and I need to get out of the corn fields of Indiana where the people are corn fed and country bred!
  • 1 0
I deserve a break because I have 5 hours of college homework a night, training for races and this coming season every day before said homework, and 8+ hours of school before that.
  • 1 1
I am a senior at colorado state university studying geology and I love riding and racing my bike. I am going to be racing a full season this summer in my goal of applying and hopefully being able to move up to the pro class. This would be a great opportunity to ride and to network and help my increase my riding skills. It would also be a great time to take a small break from school and midterms in my last semester in school.
  • 1 0
All these comments about how Maxxis is better, Michelin makes dang good tires already! Go try out the Wild Rock'r 2 side by side with a Minion DHF, bet you would be suprised. I need a break from these keyboard warriors...
  • 1 0
I ride bikes! Michelin should have sponsored Ghostbusters 1. Could have been the best product placement of all time. I still think of Ghostbusters every time I see the Michelin man. lol
  • 1 0
I recently broke my foot in October and half had to endure weeks of surgery, couch, rehab, physical therapy, and now am finally ready to go. I could use this trip more than ever to get back out there and ride.
  • 2 0
Because medical students deserve breaks too and I haven't ridden Michelin tires since the great divide in 2000.
  • 1 0
Just need a day off work/kid, riding bikes and hanging with cool people talking about great products. Getting to test the tires is a bonus.
  • 1 0
Because here I'm bend it's been snowy for over a month and most likely will continue to be snowy for much longer, it would be amazing to get to ride some good dirt soon.
  • 2 0
Im self employed and work on average 16hr days 6 days a week....... I deserve No I NEED A BREAK. Thanks
  • 1 1
Ill save you the trouble of picking me up and I'll just drive there. Haven't seen any Michelin's around here in southern CA, but if they check out maybe I could help spread the word

I live in Oregon's wet Willamette valley! I have two young kids that have been cooped in the house driving me crazy. #dadneedsabreak

  • 2 0
Yikes, everybody is going the way of a sob story and i'm just like, does it drift?
  • 1 0
Because I havent ridden my bike in 3 months due to Connecticut winters, and because I will stop buying Maxxis and start buying Michelin tires if I win!
  • 1 0
its warm man get out there!
  • 1 0
I love to ride and would be a Michelin guy for life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • 1 0
The weather has been cold then warm our trails suck and it's sloppy as hell. remind me how great it feels to ride without a wet behind again?
  • 1 0
After reading the above comments, I'm not yet convinced that I need a break. I would certainly enjoy a ride on some SB hero dirt-
  • 1 0
I've been working 6 days a week to pay my daughters college tuition . I need a break to get some extra riding in, and I could realy use some new tires
  • 1 0
I should win because after shoveling shoes in my driveway and walks along with my neighbors, it it time to taken in some dirt instead of snow.
  • 1 2
because I'm a felon who gets refused to go back to college to better myself. because i can't hold a steady job thanks to PTSD from prison. because I can't write my book cuz I can't keep enough focus to do so. because riding is the only thing that takes me away. 5 years for selling pot.
  • 1 0
I work at Arts Cyclery in SLO and the trails are too damn mucky right now, trying to get out, ride w/ da pros and demo some rad tires
  • 1 0
Riding bikes is one of the best ways to meet some awesome people and cool places. Not sure if I deserve a brake over someone else but I would enjoy the opportunity
  • 1 0
Single dad raising 2 little boys - bike trips are few and far between. But I am raising them right - we bike all summer long!

  • 1 0
I deserve a to go on this trip because I am in school and haven't gone on any bike trips like this before. I actually have never rode outside of Washington.
  • 1 0
I'm a dedicated teacher and ice hockey coach that needs a little break from the busy schedule. Thank you for the great offer, you guys rock!!
  • 1 0
I deserve a break because my life is miserable, I have no future, my girlfriend dumped me, im making little to no money every two weeks, and my parents hate me.
  • 1 0
So I can bring my mom on a trip away for a little while to help give us both a break. She works over 80 hours a week and is so amazing!
  • 1 0
Where should I begin? I need a break from the daily grind and rat race. Just having a short respite would do me wonders in both mind and body...keeping my fingers crossed!
  • 1 0
Because I work my butt off in an effort to afford this crazy sport but am left with little money to travel. So I want to try a new place.
  • 2 0
because that is the place where I star riding mid 90's and I haven't been there since 2003
  • 2 0
because i've pounded enough tacos and cheap beer this off season that i'm starting to look like the michelin man, himself.
  • 2 0
I don't deserve it at all, but man I'd love to hang out with you guys none the less.
  • 2 1
Ive got a broken foot, messed up shoulder. Everything around me is buried in snow. My dog just died, my beer has gotten warm and my wife just left me...

Full time engineering student + work full time + live in northern MN wheres it's been negative for nearly a month and no ride- able trails until late April. Help!
  • 1 0
As a huge fan of Michelin tires, I would interested in discovering what advancements and technology they will offer over my current Wild Grip'r and Race'r combination.
  • 1 0
I re\ripped the knobs off my e 13 tires cornering too hard in Santa Barbara. Michelin, show me that your tires won't fall apart underneath me!
  • 2 0
Just moved to SLC and the snow is killing me, I wish I could ride bikes again.
  • 1 1
My last pair of Michelin tires lasted 1 week before failing (Wild Rac'r Advance Ultimate 2.0's - torn knobs on both). I really enjoyed them for that week, and I'd like to give them another chance.
  • 1 1
Because i would promote the brand and the trip trhu Instagram and since i live in Southern California i don't need a plane ticket. I also have some really cool Michelin decals that i have been diying to put on my bike
  • 1 0
I have a 3 year old boy and another on the way due in March. I work full time (like everyone else), and I've never been to the west coast. And i never have won a giveaway!

I love fun, but hate limits.

  • 2 0
I teach 10-12 year olds in the least teacher-friendly state of North Carolina. Please, help.
  • 1 1
I'm recently married and my wife is pretty new to riding. She's crushed most of the trails in St. George and I'd love to see her face when she finds out that there are trails with dirt out in the world.@michelinofficial
  • 1 0
I'll be objective in comparing them to the other tires I've tried rather than going in with a "worse than a minion" attitude.
  • 3 1
Just turned 60, still at it and would be a top ten bucket list while still have it!
  • 1 0
I graduated UCSB and got into mountain biking the year after I moved away. I have some un-finished business with Tunnel Trail and Jesusita.
  • 1 0
Would be a first "MTB vacation" ever and perhaps the last! Good luck everyone, what an honor it would be to meet riders and product developers!
  • 1 0
Because I want to legitimately be able to say there is a tire out there that can compete with the Maxxis Minion DHF on my trail bike... Michelin the opportunity is yours!!
  • 1 0
Because I'm an auto mechanic in Brevard, NC and am interested in these tires as i currently run Wild Rockrs and Wild Grippers on both of my bikes.
  • 1 0
I need a break to actually ride trails that are only 2 hours away from me, yet I've never ridden. So no airline fees or transportation needed. Wink

  • 1 0
Ive never been to Cali and due to so much work I ride my bike less than 15 times a year. Due to work, lack of trails, etc. it would be a real blessing to be able to win.

Because I work three jobs, I am in the midst of planning a wedding and my riding time has seriously declined due to all mentioned.
  • 1 0

  • 2 0
Why are triangular edging knobs suddenly all the rage?
  • 3 5
Because my maxxis tires are shot to hell. I took a few laps with cam zink at northstar this summer and could barely keep up. Let's just go ahead and blame it on my worn down minions, maybe with a fresh set of tires (wink wink) I would be able to keep up. But i guess we'll never know...

  • 1 0
I don't care about going to Sana Barbara, when will they be available for purchase?
