Bell Blank Canvas Contest - Winner Announced

by Mike Kazimer
After all the votes were tallied, the top 5 designs in the Bell Blank Canvas contest were created by: epavichthesavage, brajal, kinlodesigns, lincolnturns and Sequel. We are very impressed with the level of design, dedication and execution with all of the Bell Blank Canvas entries – each one had a distinct style and represented a lot of work from the artist, which made this decision very difficult. Congratulations to all five finalists for having their designs chosen by the Pinkbike audience.

Ultimately, we needed to narrow the field and make a decision on which helmet Sik Mick Hannah would wear at Crankworx. After much careful and thoughtful deliberation, we chose linconlturn's helmet because of the intricate design that interwove Mick’s name, Australian roots and the carbon of the helmet. Mick is looking forward to racing Crankworx in this fresh design. Along with seeing his design worn by Mick, lincolnturns will receive a custom painted Full 9 for himself. All of the other runners up will be receiving Full 9 helmets of their own.

Stay tuned for photos of the helmet once it's painted by Chris Wood at Airtrix.

1st Place: lincolnturns
Half raw carbon - half Aussie flag and just a little bit o bling for the king. The raw side is the sickness taking over. Go Mick...

Runners Up:

epavichthesavage
So Pinkbike. After many many hours of blood sweat and tears computer crashes will do that to you I ve completed my humble entry into this contest. BELL Full 9 - Crankworx Edition. This idea is a long running idea that I had previously made up for TLD in 2008 to no success. This time around I hope things will be different. EVERYTHING on this helmet was Hand-drawn by myself and it all holds tons of little details so Zoom in guys You won t be able to see everything because PB locks out the resolution ...The idea was Day and Night at Whistler. One in the park one in the mountains. I truly hope you guys like this design I ve made. I had tons of fun making it up.

kinlodesigns
So I spent my time designing the best I could for Sik Mik. Hope you like it

brajal
Inspired by the little brother Super one of my favorite helmet designs this graphics are a contemporary geometric approach clean and simple but original and catchy. It s name is Hexanine a combination of hexagon and nine from Fullnine product name. I ve produced 3 color variations with future production in mind two random trend colors and a team scheme color for Mick. Thanks Pedro Brajal

11. Sequel
The Bell Full-9 done in a comic book style.

Only difference is the colour of the Southern Cross stars and the Federation star on the Australian flag. I wish I was back in NZ :/

Indeed, I didn't get the chance to congratulate you on that just yet Lincoln. Brajal as well, that's for sure. All super sick designs, all worthy of being production helmets I'd say. Good to see the graphics community is alive and well on pinkbike.

Gosh man, I'm not sure. I wanted to make something really crazy but I think the only place my design would work in would be Downhill Domination lol

I would say if they brought out the 'Comic' and 'Crankworx' editions they would sell like hotcakes. I would agree they are possibly not the best for Mick himself, but for the general public, certainly.

To be honest, I would buy any of these designs if they were to be published. Great work!
