Many riders had problems, and crashed due to the strong wind, but luckily it didn't look like there were any serious injuries.

I am sooooo upset that the live feed didn't work!! anyone else in North America have this problem!? Where was Soderstrom!? How did it go down!? Why are the Brits so upset that Reynolds didn't win!? I'm itching to know!!!!
My feed was partially working. Missed most of the 1st runs and 2nd runs. Soderstrom couldn't land 3 double whip on the 2nd set and Reynolds didn't get a better score because the judging this year was so terrible. It's like they are not watching what the guys are pulling even.
Seemed like the whole world had the same issues...however, if you have any Apple devices, the Redbull TV app played it live flawlessly the whole time. Was a sweet comp. Soderstrom had issues, and they average the two highest scores out of 3 runs. Reynolds still could have mathematically won it in the end, but crashed out attempting to do so.
not only north-america. also in austria, i got to see rheeder's last run with the red bull tv app. very impressive !
and the flip whips were opposite flipwhips.
to answer your question rbka. If one of the british riders don't win the brits complain about the judging and how the british riders run was way sicker. Because they are (not all) but some little fan boys who can not accept a loss, It happens really every contest they dont win.
wasnt workin in Slovakia as well...but luckily it worked redbullmobile.com so I watched it on my mobile phone..soo stoked, the level of riding went up as hell !
Rheeder was the omly one that checked the course again before the event and he did the most warm up runs.. He deserved it! Was amazing to watch! The air at the first kicker where i was standing the whole event was fucking huge!!!!
Genons last run was probably the best I thought, better than Rheeders last run. I get the technical difficulty of Rheeners oppo flipwhip, but having a regular one before it was too much of the same thing. There were some sketchy landings by a few of the guys that were doing the bigger tricks, which probably lost them points even though the tricks were big.
well he didnt do four because hes not a retard. its sorta the same process as regular to oppo 3. same trick but different dexterity shows a lot more skill than if he had just decided to 360 instead of the oppo flipwhip
How many people can opposite flip whip. Not to mention a regular one right before it.
Well deserved win for Rheeder thats just next level riding right there.
Vishneviy was straight airing the drop off the top every run, which definitely wasn't going to get him any points. He was also trying interesting variations of tricks, but not landing all of them, or landing and messing up the run in to the next jump.
yeah, you're right, sorry I forgot. An invert on the first step down isn't enough to get points if everyone else was doing a 360 variation or backflip off the same jump.
you dont seem to understand how hard it is to invert like that off that kind of lip.. it was properly upside down.
he can flip and spine as much as he needs, but he didn't.
An invert takes years of perfecting. A backflip or 360 is impressive yes, but an invert is equally as difficult to get dialled. Has always been an underrated trick.
I feel like he did an invert because he didn't want to flip or three it. It sure wasn't because he thought his properly upside down invert would get him more points than a three or a flip...
Rheeder deserved the win, but I didn't like how they scored the riders. Genon and Reynolds scores was too low, while Rheeder might got a point or two too much. But the placement on the podium is fair enough, oppo tricks are getting the extra points like last year.
Of course oppo tricks are getting more points why wouldn't they there much more difficult. The best comparison i have heard for people who have never tried one is that its like throwing a baseball or writing with your opposite hand.
the live stream is suck
but i got app red bulls tv on my lumia so i could see the live but only the last run where reynolds and soderstrom got crashed
and i didn't recognize that rheeder was doing flip oppo whip, after all they all pulled really2 big tricks
This is friggin awesome, watching this guy ride at Joyride 150 here in Markham Ontario, now seeing him win this VAK...Im proud to be from Ontario, good things are a brewin' here! From Downhill to Dirt Jumpin magicians....awesome!~
Same trick twice should be marked down slightly, period. Oppo tricks should get scored higher, but just do the oppo flip whip for extra points, and a truck driver or something. No need for the regular flip whip, leading to less repetitive runs.
Stoked to see Genon on RedBull. I remember watching him at Joyride and not knowing who the hell he was and then he took it all home. Super sick man, I love mtb.
He was doing big tricks, 360 variation off the step down, double tailwhip, i think a backflip variation, and 360 tailwhip. he was doing well, but when he tried to go bigger on his last run he messed up the landing on the second jump and couldn't do the third.
sounds like a great idea, but think this will give great advantage for the more famous riders like pilgrim and soderstrom. A lot of their fans will give them good points without really looking at the less known riders
one guy flips every jump, 80% of the crowd and veiwers think "oh, backflips are so cool and hard, most points for him!''
also 90% of the people would have no idea about opposite or switch tricks, and probably wouldn't even notice a bar spin in a trick.
also, most of the viewers would be from north America (canada) as it has such a large mtb following, and they would all give points to the canadian riders...
