If you can't tell by looking at it, Giant's 2011 Glory is their full on race machine. This ready to race bike is the Glory 1 model and it looks like it could be a top choice for privateer racers and pinners alike. A solid spec and great graphics all around.

Giant uses their dual link Maestro suspension system to create a bike that performs well when both pedalling and braking. The two links work together to create a virtual pivot point out in space.

The blue and white machine is stunning in person. No detail has been spared, from the anodized aluminum pivot hardware to the blue housing, she's a looker!

Hydroformed tubes are used extensively throughout the frame. Your looking at the swingarm from above and can see the uprights curve away from the tire to improve clearance for those muddy days.

 Yeee' buddy!

I'm glad they signed Danny. I feel he was signed as the number two rider but he is getting FAR better results than Riffle.

Where is his accent from (I don't mean English, like more specifically, like Sheffield etc)? It sounds northern.
  • + 2
 north east, he's from redcar

I had a chance to demo one of these at Crankworx the other day - took it down Freight Train, Duffman and Crank it up. Super fun bike. So light and agile, totally springs off jumps. Didn't want to take it back. If i had a spare $4500 CAD i'd be investing in one for sure

Man he can ride - and seems to manage just fine without adjustable geometry / low BB / 90 deg HA etc etc....

All you people who slag this bike without trying it are talking rubbish. Since when did numbers tell the story of how a bike behaves? Sometimes yes, but there are a lot of dynamics involved that the internet - geometry - boffins dont consider.
  • + 2
The "Dynamics" felt on a bike are a direct result of physics. Physics goes hand in hand with crazy internet things like 'geometry'! Razz
  • + 1
"Geometry" was around long before the interweb my friend.

Danny rules. I am an owner of this exact bike. It is an exellent machine but keep a few thing in mind:
- if you run steep courses I advice to change the front angle as I did (this way the fork forks better too)
- if you favourite bike park includes rocky or steep terrain, then ask your dealaer to change rims before you purchase the bike. DT Swiss 550 is an all mountain rim not a DH one. I destroyed both in 4 months. I mounted white DH ones and it looks supere great too. But of course you loose 150g per rim.
- Elixir brakes are a big pain. Many many complain. The original pads were finished in 4 months too (no more than 25 days on bike).
Rest is fine. Enjoy.

shit hot! im glad they replaced the michelin tyres with maxxis, as the the michelin tyres were shite. Look foward to seeing Danny pin it on the new glory!
  • + 4
i didn'T know Danny Hart since now, he funckin rips the track!!

Have they always had the cables on the downtube? Weird call for a bike that is going to be a shuttle rig for most. Other than that its a beaut!
  • + 1
great minds meet! it's the only thing bothering me on this bike, how come they placed cables below the downtube? especially when you look at Danny's bike : cables are runing above the downtube, maintained by collars...
unfortunately they did the same thing on the new 2012 Glory...
beside this, great looking bike as you said!!! (new ones won't be so pretty, IMO)
  • + 1
Agreed. The only thing I don't LOVE about my Glory is the cable placement. It hasn't caused me any grief yet, but I don't like it on the downtube.
  • - 1
Did two demo runs (crank and joyride) and I'm not a fan! Sure its amazingly light and accelerates like a greyhound BUT I found it lacked stability and was kind of twitchy........ .....its not going to be on my wish list for 2011! just my 2cents worth.
  • + 1
so does it have a 150mm rear...i couldn't tell from the video. also i heard its pretty stiff...not sure though Smile

maybe next time they should do a dry run with that guy
  • + 1
 It is a 150 x 12 rear axle (@ 1.20 and 1.47 in the vid).
  • + 1
And, YES, that bike's rear end is pretty stiff ! Very repsonsive frame due to the 65 deg HA and it's stiffness. Playful and light bike
  • + 2
Why havnt they moved the cables off the bottom of the downtube? Such a stupid place to put them.
  • + 2
ah mate. that is what i thought at first too. also i thought these things are going to get f'ed up shutteling. then i took a step back after a couple weeks having took a step back and it cleans everyhting up so much and 8 months later after shuttleing heaps nothing has heppened to the cables.
  • + 1
Ive got quite a few mates who race on them, they go through so many brakes lines etc from rocks hitting the downtube.
  • + 1
Weird, I've been riding the my yeti for 4 years, beat the piss outta it, plenty of days shuttling, more than enough rocks smashing the downtube. Not one single problem with brake line, it looks a little worn now, but rightfully so after 4 years. I'm not thinking this is going to be much of a problem. Sick ass bike, love the colors.
  • + 1
what do they mean by the WC internals? dont the teams and the WC have the same damper internals? just the only difference being the air cartridge?
  • + 1
That's correct. It's the air side that takes a bit more TLC to keep feeling at its best. An awful lot of riders(racers) who started out the year on World Cups are now on Team internals to reduce the maintenance and improve the performance.
  • + 3
I was really hoping angled reducer cups to be in the new speclist.
  • + 0
they still doing the glory 00? Pretty happy i got the 2010 glory 01, not big on all white and blue, black and red is way better off
  • + 3
 To each his own Wink
Though I would like a black/blue glory.

  • - 3
A Boxxer instead of a 40RC2 this time? Bad move IMO. Certainly no need to reach way down to the bottom of the barrel, right? Look sick overall though.
  • + 0
Oh wait, my bad, looks like 40's on the "0" model still. Whew, that scared me for a minute!
  • + 2
Yeah, I missed that it was an 01 model on first look. Glad to know that the 00's will still be fitted with 40's up front. I do like the colors of the 01 better than the 00 though.

 New Demo ftw ??????????
