Just me, or was he hitting chunkier stuff on the trail bike vs the DH? Either way, nice riding all around!

Ladies AllRide Introduces Girls AllRide
This is an awesome program! Last year I got to meet Lindsey and Meredith and crew in Marin as they staged their camp at the school where I am a NorCal HS MTB League coach. They tagged along on our team ride scouting possible trails for their upcoming clinics. Super cool, super positive program. That first pic of Lindsey running and pushing the girl? That's her 24/7. Keep up the good work!

Raked & Rated - 6 MTB Trail Sculpters
@EricHarger: I'm in your neck of the woods. Been looking at the 70HR or the 60A Hoe/Pick. Would you recommend one over the other? Doing trail work on Hunt's Camp/Perinickel and I definitely used a stand alon pick a lot to get at some big rocks. Don't know if the pick on the Rogue combo is big enough to be useful.

Topeak Ratchet Rocket Lite DX - Review
I have this tool and it's definitely nicely made and works well, but I mostly leave it at home in lieu of a traditional multitool. I have a Tulbag from Backcountry Research and in there are a multitool, legit Pedros tire levers, masterlink, extra valve core, license and CC. That fits in my shorts pocket easily. This tool is pocektable as well, but not as easily and you pretty much can't ditch the slightly bulky case because of the bit storage. I even went to Harbor Freight and bought some cheap bits just for the minimalist storage "case" they came in. Lot of faffing to try to get the set up and carry dialed. In the end, just stuck with the tried and true.

Wilderness Bill Clears First Hurdle in Congress
@tristanjh: The bill would lift a blanket ban and give more autonomy to local land managers. That's not exactly the same as fundamentally eroding the wilderness designation. An analog can be found in recreational marijuana legislation (at least in California.) Soon to be legal at the state level, but plenty of local jursidictions continuing the ban. I happen to live in a county that ironically spearheaded legal pot, but now is very anti-recreational. And coincidentally, pretty anti-mountain biking despite some serious history with that too. If HR 1349 and the related Senate bill do pass, there's a big chunk of wilderness here that has sweet singletrack. I'd love to see the local director give it a green light. I doubt it'll happen, but I do think each wilderness unit should be managed at the local level, not nationally. My two cents. . .

Kirt Vories Late Season Shred at Snow Summit
I was gonna say that's not "old school" surfers because, you know, it's not off of classic 80's LPs. But then I checked and it was released in 1996 — so for a lot of PB, that's ancient! Either way, one of the best bands ever.
