Join Grant Murdoch and SDA News Team for the lowdown on the first round of the Scottish Downhill Association race of the year in Ae Forest. Snow put stop to race day but fun was had on Saturday practice in the sleet and slop.

Ryan Middleton. He got word that there were some jumps on the track. He was seen pushing his bike on the other parts of the track...

Reece Wilson. Delving into a rooty slop fest.

Lachlan Blair. The man from Fort William showed up on his trail bike but it didn't hold him back in the rough stuff.

George Gannicott. One to watch this year we reckon, on a new bike and showing great speed.

Sad times that the race was cancelled but luckily the spirit was strong and everyone agreed it would have been a bit dangerous heading up for race runs. Also due to the snow the uplift would not be able to run. Still a great weekend and we are excited to get on with the season ahead!

Join us on the 6th and 7th of April for the 2nd Round in Innerleithen.

Stay Spicy Scotland.

Driest winter in my living memory and it dumps 4 inches on snow the weekend of the first race! Come on Mother Nature, I know we're making a mess of your planet but that's a right kick in the nuts!

Pretty sad when a mountain bike race does not happen because of not getting a lift too the top of the hill, is DH getting soft?

Good for you though Ben given your sore back.

Now that's how you do a race report! Even of a race that didn't happen

That root in the 3rd photo sends shivers down my spine. Could see myself eatin' shit on that.

 Pretty standard stuff over here.

Its fine, you didnt go anywhere near the root, it was backside of the corner. Always an interesting corner though as the setup has a couple of nice roots to catch you out.

@betsie: I just have bad memories of similar slippery roots at a Highland Enduro in NH.
