Don't Punch the Baby - Opinion
I've seen and been passed by a few e-bikes in the past week or so. Honestly it's not much different than getting passed by a dude who's in way better shape in me. I didn't see any massive ruts formed as they went by or any of the doom and gloom being spouted here. While I wouldn't ride one, I don't see what the harm is. They're great for people unable to otherwise ride. I bet most of the people with the strongest opinions on the matter haven't even seen an e-bike on the trails, because if they had they'd realize they were outrageously overreacting.

Atomik Debuts New Technologies in Carbon Wheelsets
I love my carbon wheels. I ride a Enduro 29 and they have completely transformed the ride. My old wheels were pretty much rubber bands. To me, the grand or so I spent upgrading is well worth it, especially since it feels like I'm riding a whole new bike. To get that feeling otherwise I'd be shelling out 4-5k for an actual new bike. I haven't run into any issues with them either, which is surprising since I'm a beater and still have my winter beer belly weighing me down. To each their own though!

Inside Hope Technology: Following The Manufacturing Process
When I was working as a mechanic a pair of 10 year old Hope brakes came in for a bleed and new pads. Sourced the pads, bled the brakes and they worked better than a brand new pair of Shimanos. I got some tech 3 E4s after that and have been riding them ever since. Really impressive stuff.

Are you Concerned About the Demise of Bike Shops? - Pinkbike Poll
@KeithReeder: If I had a dollar for every time someone came into the shop I worked at with some small issue made much larger by themselves, I could still afford to work in that bike shop. If you truly know more than a mechanic who's been wrenching for years as a full time job, that's fantastic. People who actually know more than the pros are few and far between; their business wouldn't be missed as it is such a tiny part of the pie. The problem is your average Joe who doesn't want to pay full pop for a derailleur, buys one on Jenson USA, screws up the install, takes it to a shop, and bitches when they charge him to fix it. The shop probably would have thrown it on for free had he just bought it from them, but now to stay in business they have to charge the max labor fee. It's a vicious, self-perpetuating cycle. EDIT: Grammar

Are you Concerned About the Demise of Bike Shops? - Pinkbike Poll
Where is the "Oh shit, my bike is broken and I don't know how to fix it!" option? Bike shops are integral to their community, even if whiny, entitled riders think that they shouldn't pay more than a 5% markup on parts. Knowledge is a commodity too.

@lyophilization: If you sign up to broadcast an event and take it off the table for other providers, you had better damn well make sure you can deliver. Free viewing means s#it when you can't watch. This isn't a first time problem either, there are no excuses.
