It was a prime weekend for the Portuguese Miranda Factory Team. Highlights for the victories of José Borges (Eurocup class), Emanuel Pombo (EBike class) and Maaris Meier (EBike-Women class) in the last round of the Maxiavalanche Series 2020.

Despite the cancellation of the European competition - the calendar was reduced to two events, with Méribel receiving the last round. It was a very technical track, about 11 km long, starting at the top of the Pas Du Lac cable cars and arriving at Chaudanne.

After José Borges' confident victory in Saturday's qualifying, the expectations were high and everyone was waiting for Sunday's finals. The Miranda Bike Parts’ athlete would end up winning both races, becoming the big winner of the Méribel Maxiavalanche 2020. “After the bad luck in the other round, this one ended up going very well. I had some setbacks, namely a fall (without consequences) on Saturday, today in the first "heat" I lost the battery device of the gearbox and I did the rest in single-speed. The second heat was perfect, I didn’t encounter anyone along the run and in the sum of the heats I won the Overall and the class”.

In the E-Bike class, Emanuel Pombo won again the Overall / class. The Madeiran also had lively fights with his teammate - Tiago Ladeira, who, overall, would finish in 2nd place Senior class / 3rd Overall.

In the E-bike class, a highlight for Maaris Meier who won the Women's class, having even secured the 5th place Overall.

In the end, Pombo commented: “Another successful weekend for the team. Glad to be on top of the podium again and motivated for the EWS-E in the coming days. Thanks to the team for all the support and I would like to dedicate this race to Miranda Bike Parts for all the dedication”.

“I've been taking advantage of Pombo’s experience and in the first heat we ended neck and neck. In the second heat I wanted to push, but I ended up puncturing, so I just tried to minimize the damage. With this setback, the podiums turned out to be an excellent result” concluded Ladeira.

On the podium, Maaris said:“I have always tried to achieve the best result, even for the Overall standings. I am very pleased with this victory and for always reducing the time on each run”.

The Miranda Factory Team now heads to Zermatt - Switzerland, where it will line up for the EWS - Enduro World Series 2020.
