ur kidding me....we had minus 30 for about two weeks straight, and weve had snow on the ground since mid november, that winter. Van get six months of fall and 6 months of summer, u have no idea how jealous I am.

Mitch is really killing it this year and hes got a really good style! Glad Morpheus picked him up before a bigger name company that everybody already knows about! Its all about these new companys. They are the real rider owned dedicated companys that are the best with their customers and have the best products and prices!

Nice to be able to ride the snow in t-shirt and shorts, not like here in Sweden where we had about -20°C and lower for a month now. Starting to get some warmer days now, most important is to be able to use thiner gloves without getting freezing damages.

you ever seen one of thse? fatbikealaska.blogspot.com I saw a couple up in alaska when i was up there. people ride them on the iditarod dogsled race course in the winter in a race called the iditabike. just something fun for deeper snow.

 might be wrong , but 1:33 ?
And t-shirt and shorts in the winter Oo ? Oh right you're canadian I forgot Razz
  • 2 0
The gro pro quality is great as long as you have enough light. When it get dark it gets granny and blurry. Haha Canada is cold, just the lower west cost doesn't get too bad. But we will still cry when it's -5C out. It's a different kind of cold!!

@ lux-freerider: is 0:53 not shot with a gopro? I mean it doesn't have to be mounted on your helmet!

Some of thos parts seemed super sketchy.
  • 3 0
yeah that one's obviously done with a gopro Razz I doubt he duct taped his 7D to his fork ...

Nice edit. what lens are you using on the 7D?
  • 1 0
I have a bunch of old FD mount canon lens my grandma had. I use an adapter. 50mm 1.8f, 80-200mm f4, 28mm 2.4f and the crappy kit lens. . Planning on getting some new ones soon though. There's a few holes in the line up.
  • 1 0
Thanks. I recently got a 7D with the 18-135 lens and just waiting for slightly less snow to give the camera a go. do you use a follow focus? Any pointers?
  • 1 0
I assume that is the same 18-135 that my 60D came with.. its a pretty good starter lens, I am going to grab a 50 f1.8 soon and should be set.. I am thinking that a 70-200 down the road would be awesome too.
  • 1 0
I did, its not bad, better than no lens! Defiantly, for a $120 you cant go wrong with the 50mm 1.8f.
The new 2.8f 70-200 USM II is on my list. 2500 for it, doesnt hurt to bad if you say it fast!
  • 1 0
nah man you can get the non IS 70-200 for like $1200 If your going to be using the f2.8 then your going to need a faster shutter speed anyways so the IS isnt really needed.
  • 1 0
1/50th of a second is pretty slow. 1/50th when shooting 24p is optimal, gives a cinema feel to the footage. I use ND filters to knock down the light if its too bright.
  • 1 0
I am talking more photo stuff..
I agree that for a film look that sticking to the 180 rule is ideal. I just cant justify $2500 over $1200 just for IS.. especially when most video stuff is shot on a tripod, slider, jib, etc
