@brysonmartinjr: I am not sure if it is mentioned in another comment but is this close enough to the finished product to give an estimate of what the weight will be?

Downhill Secret Revealed: Flat Tire Defender Foam Inserts - First Look
But people don't buy carbon wheel sets because they are light because they really aren't that light. If weight were your biggest concern get an EX 471 or a spank spike enduro. They are plenty strong and lighter than ENVE DH rims. The main reason to buy carbon rims is for the stiffness.

I did experience a little bit of trouble but I expected it from feedback of others. I had to file out a little relief in the the rocker link to provide clearance for shock. It is not a lot of material but it can be a little scary none the less. As for bearings and spacers/hardware, The shop I bought the shock through took care of all that for me.

1 Question - What's Keeping the Gearbox Down?
I totally agree with this. I have been entertaining getting into the gearbox club but would be very reluctant to journey down any other path than a downhill bike for this reason. What is the efficiency of a gearbox compared to a standard drive train? I am very impressed at the gear ratios they can deliver but at what cost? @groghunter a belt will work for a hard tail or single pivot applications just fine but that really limits the ability for the suspension designs that the consumers seem to prefer these days to be used. However I think this is something that could be remedied by a robust tension arm designed for use with belts. (maybe one already exists that I haven't seen yet)
