We can often get lost in self analysis and over-thinking each process as athletes trying to perfect a craft. Our goal for the “Getting Critical” series is to help each other improve by sharing insights and criticisms of what we notice in one another’s riding that might be hard to self-diagnose. In return, we hope to offer ideas and examples to help other people think about how they ride a bike or interpret a trail.

While I love trail braking on motorcycle road bikes, there was an exercise I would do at least once a month or when I got new tires. I would relax and slow down the corner entries having my speed set before turning in. Invariably this led to being smooth and surprisingly fast. It's a strange trick, that whole slow is fast thing, but it does work to help you shift how you see your inputs at entry and realize higher mid corner speeds while being relaxed.
That said, Miranda is awesome! :-)
