I've spent the last 4 days in Whistler having the time of my life, and since I can only use one hand because of it, I figure I'd throw up a few photos and vids from the trip.I headed up early Friday morning and met up with the Coast Mountain Photo Photographer. He has amazing talent and Jake and I had a blast shooting with him. My dad dubbed himself style-less in the morning, and left us to shred the park on his own, but I could tell he was a little regretful after the gold we brought back;
After filling the morning with whips, flatty's, bright flashes and berms, we said goodby to the photo guy and went to meet up pig out at the GLC. We kept riding for as long as we could, but around 3 o'clock we had to call it quits. During the evening we spent some time trying to find some information on the train wreck and the infamous Ride Don't Slide. We got some footage of the train wreck, but Ride Don't Slide has to be ridden not watched. It makes anything you considerd gnarly before look like a joke. After Ride Don't Slide we took a couple laps and were cookin' through trails like crack addict and the rest.
Riding was followed by beer for my dad and a foam pitt session for Jake and me.
Sunday had saw some rain and allowed a whole noisy crew of us to shred until we were ready for bed (3:30-4:00). The weekend had shaped up nicely, the only thing that would have made it better was if Dirt Merchant hadn't been closed for a major rebuffing.
Monday we packed up and put everything in the truck so we could get a few more hours of Whistler. I fell hard halfway down the warm-up run on Schleyer (right under the chair on the big rock to the right and no one on the chair said a word!). I had trouble riding the bike down and called it quits. I took the key's, got changed and planned to do a bit of shopping while everyone else got their fill of the trails, but my wrist was bugging me more than before and decided to stop by the clinic. It turns out I seperated a growth plate in my left wrist and am going to need a splint for two weeks, but on the bright side I got a few more pictures;
Ahh Whistler, I'll be back in two weeks
