On October 7, 2017, racers took to the slopes of Trail Creek Park for the first annual Athens MiniDh.
Athens MiniDH is a two-stage downhill race, in which riders put in their best runs on Widespread and Panic, Trail Creek Park's two local-music-themed downhill trails.

Racers took on Panic first. Panic isn't the gnarliest course in the world, but what it lacks in steepness, it makes up for in slippery flat turns and physicality — if you want to put in a fast time on Panic, be prepared to pedal! In the open men category, Drew Blankenbecker set the fastest time with a 1:06.4. Dan Bornmann was a tenth of second back, and Joseph D’Aduzzio finished third at just over a second back. In sport men, Nick Allen finished first at 1:08.9, followed by motocrosser Chris Melvin, and Bryan Huff. In women sport, Christine Stratton set the best time with 1:18.9, followed by Catherine Thompson.

After Panic, riders took on Widespread, Trail Creek Park's jump line. In open men, Dan Bornmann made it down Widespread’s ten jumps and seven berms in 0:46.3. Matt Bulthuis posted the second fastest time at two tenths back, and Drew Blankenbecker finished third. Nick Allen won sport men with 0:47.7 followed by Chris Melvin and Adam Durrence. Christine Stratton repeated as fastest finisher in sport women, followed by Catherine Thompson.
