It's probably not my independence day hangover, but he's going so fucking fast that I can't even mentally process the trail right now. I'm gonna have to rewatch this again later today, but likely the same result.
My thoughts exactly, I was on the edge of a heartattack the entire time during the livestream, this looks like the lid of a helmet gliding down a mountain...
Yeah, the slo-mo shows him countering the movement of the bike at least twice...to perfection. Saying the top riders are on a different level is a major understatement.
A probably stupid question: Why is the camera moving around so much in relation to his helmet? Isn't it a solid connection? Is that just the in-camera image stabilization doing it's thing, or does he have some sort of stabilizer / gimble setup that's allowing the camera to move around a bit?
I would guess its software stabilization, which would in turn cause the normally stable (in relation to the camera) visor to move around. I dont think Hart used a gimbal for a WC run
I really do not get how they are going so quickly through such a gnarly terrain and make turns, etc. It is like he (and the other super fast guys from Sunday) has few key points/lines and everything else is just speed and wherever the bikes go.
OK. I finally get it. I DON'T go fast. I merely go less slower.
Other than that mach 6 bobble near the end and maybe a few of the tight corners just above where that section, it's hard to see where he could have lost time. It would be interesting to have Troy, Greg and Danny's GoPro runs split-screen to see where the separation occurs.
