That "Oh No!" OTB over the rock... Ouch!

And straight with a face to another rock! Nasty!

 I work with her!

@More-funner: Is she OK after that? I nearly crapped my pants when I saw her scorpion off of that.

@ridebikesyall: Hey there, I'm ok...lots of soreness around my core and a suspected fractured rib is all I got from that. Yay for Alpinestars armor! I'm just super bummed, I had that rock dialed day after day in practice...just came in too slow on the race run Frown

@kgodfrey52: Beast! Heal up soon and get back out there!

@kgodfrey52: I turned my head at first. Thought it was gonna be gruesome. Cracked rib? Don't think about sneezing....don't. Big Grin

@kgodfrey52: Good to hear that rock didn't do more damage. Hope you heal quick!

In person that rock line is insane. The run up is all wrong and gnarly AF. That's snowshoe's specialty, old school tech with rocks in all the wrong places.

Things looking pretty awesome for US DH finally, even with Gwin injured. Congrats on the win Neko against some stiff competition.

@kgodfrey52: Holy hell! Hope it's not a fracture and that it all goes away so you can get back out there soon!

"First, the 18-year-old Soriano completed the qualifying run seven seconds faster than the 30-year-old N.C native and No. 1-GRT ranked rider Caroline Washam to earn the top position for the finals. Then on Sunday, she was nine seconds faster than Washam to take the women’s national title." Washam and Kitner are no slouch, and this just-18 girl put a considerable margin between her and them. Commencal has another Myriam Nicole on their hands with this one!

Samantha has got to be one of the most badass riders out there: insanely good at jumping, throwing tricks, whips and fast as f*ck.
  • 2 0
Is she going to race UCI DH?

Stocked for Neko. This could be just what he needed to get back to being a consistent top 10 WC finisher.

Hell of a strong showing from North Carolina. First and second men’s, second women’s, and second men’s junior division. Great work out there, we are proud of your efforts! If you haven’t had a chance to ride out here you really need to. The trails are legit!

1, 3, and 4 pro men is NC
  • 3 3
 @NCKingsting so is the traffic
  • 2 1
@SnowshoeRider4Life: the reality is that Luca is the only NC rider to grow up actually riding here. He's even originally from the West Coast, but came to NC as a little kid.
Neko is Northeast until a few years back, maybe 5 years?. Max is from Georgia & only moved to NC a few years back around the same time.

By that logic, the Athertons are from SoCal.

 @bizutch: that's a stretch, even for you.
  • 1 1
 @SnowshoeRider4Life: I'm flexible....beyond my years Smile
  • 1 1
@bizutch: Neko's parents live in Reading Pa. Neko's home is in NC.
  • 2 1
@bulletbassman: now yes. My comment was very specific. Luca is the only rider that grew up in NC.
I feel like our state is taking credit for riders abilities. The more accurate thing is that top level riders moved here for the riding way of life. Their talents & successes aren't a result of being in NC.

Isak Leivson & Mick Hannah have both been residents here in the past 2 years, but we don't count their results as "from NC". Again, just sounds like our state taking credit for producing winners. Have a good day.

I just noticed how much guys names have changed from when i grew up in the 1870's. Dylan,Kyle, Walker,Max, Luca..... all cool but nothing says "cool dude" like "Larry"......ehem.

You grew up in the 1870's?
Time traveler.

Todd, Doug, Donny, Brent....where have all the Chads gone?
  • 6 0
@endlessblockades: All the Chads were hanged in Florida during the 2000 presidential election.

Butch is the ultimate guy name.
Or at least it was....now, it's a culture?

Stoked to see the US men starting to have a strong run of young guys and the DH scene coming back to consistently challenge at the WC. Women still have a long way to go but things are going in the right direction!

Neko looked Jedi-esque rolling through those rock gardens.
  • 5 0
Look at that chicken at the end! They sure are weird lookin in the US of A
  • 2 4
I hope you realize that's a hawk. I'm assuming you're going with sarcasm tho lol
  • 3 0
Neko, Charlie and Luca were in a totally different league - 4th place was over 10 seconds back on Luca in 3rd. Seriously impressive pace!
  • 3 1
I know I must have missed gossip about it, but what happened to Gwin? Did he just decide to sit this Nationals out, or is it still that broken finger thing?
  • 8 0
The old finger thing pretty sure. Maybe he'll do some laps at U.S. Open the weekend before MSA, we'll see. YT still getting those wins though!
  • 6 0
He posted on his instagram last night that MRI revealed he doesn't need surgery, but that his ligaments are super stretched. He's still PTing and working on it, but also riding.
  • 2 0
he's just riding bmx/pumptracks at the moment, looks like that's all he can do during the healing process to not put too much stress on that thumb.
  • 2 1
What has happened to the mighty days of the US racing scene? Where are the crowds, the atmosphere. I remember the time of NORBA - Tomac, Juarez, Overend, Furtado, Rockwell, King, Palmer etc.
  • 2 0
I cannot believe how fast and smooth neko looked through thoose rocks. It's so awesome to see him ripping that hard!
  • 3 0
That hop over the rocks leading into the road crossing on lower hareball! I suppose rocks are easier when you're in the air.
  • 3 0
 So stoked for Niko!!
  • 3 0
 Yea! nice work Neko!

 What happened to Bingelli?
  • 2 2
A few years ago he started to catch only 4th and 5ths with the occasional top three at domestic races and he hasn’t looked back. Seriously, he hasn’t been in the running for anything for a while.
  • 1 0
Don’t spend your price money all in one place!
