I ride a tubeless 29+ rig in remote areas every weekend, mostly behind behind locked gates. 5 years ago I was on the way back on a 33 deg day in heavy rain/snow and I flatted the rear tire. No problem, slap in a tube and go. By the time I had it all back together I was in starting to get hypothermia. As I headed back to the car and I thought: Hmmmm That was your only tube. Hmmm If you flat that you'll never get a patch on that soggy mess. Hmmm if you flat the front you have no more tubes. Hmmmm walking 6 miles out from here would be sketchy proposition... Now I carry 2 patch kits, 3 tubes (aerothan to save weight), and a Stomp foot pump.
