After two days of intense activity with 600 riders competing at the third edition of Red Bull Holy Bike at La Pinilla, Toni Ferreiro and Marketa Michalkova were crowned as the total riders. Both have proved to be the fastest and most versatile in a competition that combined three disciplines (Downhill, Enduro, and Avalanche) and where they can only use a single bike, a unique concept within MTB competitions. The event created a unique atmosphere and camaraderie over the weekend, the true seal of Red Bull Holy Bike that was pointed out by the participants.

Red Bull Holy Bike opened on Saturday afternoon with the first of the three timed sections, the descent in pairs. On a much-improved ground compared to previous editions and with very favorable weather conditions, the first few hills have been a great test to define the leading positions and the true candidates to fight for the victory. The level was such that the winner was only decided in the last section of the competition: the Avalanche, in which the riders compete side by side in a final descent. This last ride made the difference on a day with a strong wind that forced the riders to be more precise than ever.

"I have felt very comfortable on all stretches. On Saturday the terrain was in very good conditions, so I enjoyed it a lot. In the Avalanche, I decided not to go to the limit and manage a little the advantage I already had, but at the end, it is always a battle so it has been intense", said Ferreiro at the end of the competition. Among the riders in competition, one of the attractions has been the participation of Sergio Layos who, for a weekend, put aside his specialty on BMX Street to venture through the forests of La Pinilla. Another novelty has been the inclusion for the first time in competition for electric bikes. In that category, Tomás Fernández took the victory.
For this time Sergio Layos change his BMX for a Specialized Enduro,It looks like big wheels was not a problem to maintain their style. In the category ‘Challengers', the victory has been for Victor Sahagún, while in 'Master' it has been for Carles Barcons.
After the race day of Saturday, in case there was not enough fun, the organization organized a barbecue and a competition of dual, the beers the music and the good atmosphere extended the evening until after midnight.
Another of the classics of the Red Bull Holy Bike, is the nocturnal descent of Saturday, where the riders wait at dusk at the top of the bike park and down the Holy Bike trail. From the lower part of the bike park you can see a luminous serpent formed by the lights of all the riders. Two points of view of the Avalanche.
The last jump is always a good place for the public to enjoy. The second descent of the Saturday was "La Cresta", the last plates went down with the last lights of the day. I have a hard time remembering names as I meet them on the trails. La Pinilla is amazing and for 25euros a day, you can have 15-20 laps of fun..
