Gwin: “There’s much more to the story”

As Trek World Racing seek to challenge Aaron Gwin’s move to Specialized, the rider takes to Twitter

Hours after Specialized’s official announcement of 2012 World Cup winner Gwin’s move to their team for 2013 made the headlines this week, TWR released their own statement claiming that Gwin had “signed a legally binding Letter Of Intent with our team for the next three seasons” in August 2012, which Gwin had reneged on, and that the team “are actively pursuing all options open to us at this point, including legal action”.

Gwin himself has taken to social networks to suggest that the whole story has yet to come out and he will have his say on the matter:

“Proud to announce that I will be riding for Specialized moving forward. There’s much more to the story than what’s been shared and I’m looking forward to setting that straight very soon,” said Gwin in an extended Twitter post. “Thanks to my team and fans who’ve had my back in this time.”
