PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!!!!!! If it has been raining, please stay away from the Lair. We have busted our collective asses this year, to make sure we have sweet buffed out jumps to ride all season. By riding in the mud, you are destroying our hard work!!!!!!
Here is the rule of thumb. "IF YOUR TIRES LEAVE TRACKS IN THE DIRT, THEN ITS TOO MUDDY TO RIDE".
We are sick and tired of having to fix damage everytime we come out to ride.
If the weather is crappy, then find something else to do, besides damaging the jumps at The Lair. Please respect this rule, and we will have sweet terrain to ride all year.
On another note. If its muddy, then its too wet to be working the dirt. Raking the mud only makes that smooth surface rougher; and scraping the mud away so you can ride, only creates holes that we have to go back and fill in. There is a fine line between muddy unworkable dirt, and wet dirt that is perfect for sculpting. If you don't know the difference, then please stay away from the hand tools.
I'm not trying to sound like an A-hole here; just trying to protect the hundreds upon hundreds of hours of work that volunteers have put forth to make the Lair what it is.
I greatly appreciate our biking community complying with this request.
Please pass this info along to your children. Thank You
