The sun has dipped on Hafjell after a great start to the week. It s feeling Autumnal and snow may even be on the way in the next few days.

It s hard to understand what Bernado does when he scrubs. Rolling direction seems to count for nothing. Today he was adding in a couple of cranks for the ET. Is there any need to pedal when the bikes facing the wrong way

And there s the race line. No one systematically cancels out turns and jumps like Hill in race mode.

Loic Bruni flatted out in two of three practice runs today. Third place yesterday in qualifications the young gun will be biting at the heels of the rest of the pack.

Troy Brosnan
Troy Brosnan is enjoying the shred here in Scandinavia...

bigquotesThe track here in Norway is pretty sick... There's almost no pedaling it's just wide open as fast as you can go. There's bike park sections of big corners and big jumps, but it's also got the 'hang off the back' rock sections as well so it's kind of almost two tracks in one. Still I think it flows really well. It's got the awkward stuff too which I can excel in and that's where I make up some time... We'll see what the rain does tomorrow, but hopefully I'm gonna come in strong and get on that podium - Troy Brosnan - Specialized Racing DH

Hutchinson Hannah and Schwalbe McCarrol never let rubber get inbetween them. Yes, life is one big innuendo. Anyway we asked Tracey if her big brother's qualifier would be inspiring her to greatness tomorrow...

bigquotesMe and Mik kind of take turns it looks like! We both love this track, I think it's just the high speed that we crave so the course really suits us. The track's not the same at all to back home except maybe the dust in the corners. I never ride rocks and stuff that's a bit tricky for me. Guess every track's unique really! - Tracey Hannah - Hutchinson UR

10 seconds off the pace leaves you 26th. Heath is well suited to the man-up and buck sections of the Hajfell course. Tomorrow could be a good day.

After last year's 'great success' (jagshemash), Devinci's other half is after his third world cup podium.

bigquotesYeah I got way more to give... Yesterday was not my day- number 13 on Friday the 13th. I don't give much about that, but it was still in the back of my head haha... I crashed in my first practice run and then I had so much trouble to get back in the flow. In my seeding run there were mistakes every 20 or 30 seconds. I messed it up in almost every section! But today I feel good, feel great and can't wait to race on it - Nick Beer - Devinci Global Racing

A troll with a beating-stick at that. That shot of Hart near the top is my new wallpaper. You guys are just killing it with the pictorials to the point that the racers are really going to have to raise the bar to keep up with you.

I could do this course*! Finally a WC Course I could ride!

The World Championship is a one time race that is not connected to the World Cup. World Cup is about total points earned throughout the season and World Championship is about one race for your nation, not your sponsors.

that track looks like so much fun
  • 3 2
If someone could enlighten me please. Why is there a World Cup after the World Championships? I would of thought that the world champs would be THE race to finish the season.

From time-to-time, it is. I think it mostly depends on where the venue is and when it's actually summer there...as well as travel logistics (lower on priority-scale, probably) as to whether it's the end, near the end or even earlier in the season (I recall one being a few races into the season, no?).

I COULD be totally wrong, too.

Go Gwin - get one for the... - wait - what? Oh, that's too bad... OK - Go Dick Rude! (and go Stevie, if Richie can't pull out a miracle)

Neko Mulally is looking good, too. This is more his kind of track than others - could be a podium.

The 1994 winter games were Lillehammer, if I recall correctly. There used to be a WC race there in the early 90s. So has Lillehammer changed its name to Hafjell?
  • 2 0
Hafjell is outside Lillehammer, and it's where the slalom and giant slalom ski races were held in the '94 Winter Games. Olympic events are always spread out around the area of the host cities, as there are not always the appropriate facilities (or room to build them) within the cities themselves.
  • 1 0
I know that's the case for the summer games, but I thought the winter games were usually based at a ski resort with everything taking place in the same locale. Thanks for the intel.
