Despite extra heavy rainfall last night the course continued on a rapid path to dryness this morning, no doubt assisted by the mounting wind... gusts that made for interesting viewing on the big jumps.
Cous Cous finding his inner zen on the lift up.

Sam Hill chased off the Ringwraiths in the upper woods and found the line that rules them all.
Mr H has more fans in Quebec than perhaps anywhere else due to spending entire summers based in Bromont. Expect MSA to erupt if he can make the lights go green on Sunday. He wasn't too stoked on his quali so rest assured he has more in the tank ready to go all out. Consistent smoothness is what this track demands and CRC's finest is gonna give 'er 2010 style.
It's a little quiet here in the pits today. When the work is done it's time to fit in the much needed snooze time.
Miss Fury waits alone up top for her master. If she can stay on the boardwalk for the race run it's likely she will be doused in the grape juice yet again.
Troy Brosnan dropping in hot. While Hill took home the elite champs title in 2010, Troy was on top of the box in the juniors. He's an understated rider in many ways, but you'd fancy him for a loud-mouth result tomorrow.
The DT Swiss rim tape catches a glimpse of daylight on Brosnan's ride. Troy's a seamlessly smooth racer, but even he can't escape the odd landmine out on the front line, here in Quebecistan.
Kerr taming the wind-induced swerve off the hip and turning out a fine scrub. No doubt he's stoked for the Whip Off Worlds next week, a sideways stomping ground of the Pivot style connoisseur.

The 'dawg redlining with Patrick Thome into the lower open section. You'll notice his front wheel is kind of aimed straight at me... well it stayed that way too long to wear these trousers again.

Neko Mullaly had such a great qualifier and was looking strong last time in Andorra. He will have the tenth from final word on the infamous St Anne man-track tomorrow.
The Royal Racing old guard share a little ponder time in the forest. Everything looked pretty different in the harsh sun mottled light this morning after all the foggy flat light.
More horse power than most... Loic Bruni was getting in the zone for finals.

'Reach up for the stars, climb every mountain higher'. Rachel's in the 'S' club alright, but she's more about the descending.
The splash-guard sits in place to protect the game face of Aaron Holmes Gwin tomorrow afternoon. A fourth qualifier could be that comeback warning shot... He's done it all before in these haunts afterall.
Gee Atherton gaining back some momentum after yesterdays crash in qualis. He has it all to do Sunday, but is guaranteed to kick back in the hot seat a little longer than usual for his efforts.
When the bikes go away the creative minds come out. Just in the pits drinking tea with the mates and having a casual mini golf tournament.

so stoked to be going to watch my favorite sport live after nearly 10 years of streaming it off the intertubes. GO STEVIE SMITH!!!!!!!!!!! Rode the track on my XC bike; being able to go race pace on that trail blows my mind...
you can't just put "Tomorrowland" at the start of an article like that. I was expecting some huge announcement in conjunction with the music festival and the world up.
Things are heating up as we head towards the start line, heart beating so fast am I gonna set a fast time?, wheels turning legs burning things are flowing smoothly, rocks, roots and gnar, but none are gonna bruise me, will I win, podium or crack the top ten, well whos to say, but you have to give your all when it comes to race day, Pump, jump, pop, skip, pedal, flow, compress, there's never been a brother with more finesse Ticking off all the skills on your wish list, I crossed the line 1st and my name is Stevie Smith
Perhaps, now that Steve Smith is on the cusp of finally winning at MSA, maybe Gwin will sweep in and make his comeback. It'd be hard to be stoked. Should I be thrilled or disappointed?!
thinkin out loud with fingers in overdrive crisco lol
lets hope the redbull server gets back up on time mind, it is down right now and has been 4 a bit which could be a good thing, but could also be very very bad :-(
