What Type of eMTB Should You Buy in 2023?
@tidnes: it’s called suggestive persuasion, instead of asking if you should buy an e-bike they tell you why you should, it removes the question that you may say no to and allows them to focus on the positives of why you should

Shimano Consolidates Entry- to Mid-Level Groupsets With New CUES Drivetrains
you will more than likely find them on lots of £3-4k hardtail/trekking/city ebikes which are probably pushing integration anyway... and that makes a lot of sense if they're harder wearing link glide.... hopefully this just means base model expensive bikes are more reliable!!

Fox Patent Shows Automatically Decoupling Hub & Disengaging Derailleur
The really clever one would be to manufacture a hub that actually rolls its engagement ratchet back and forth as the suspension goes through its travel so you could run a high pivot bike with no idler, the rear mech would have to be able to cope with a big change in chain length and I'd have no idea how that would be made, hubs would start being proprietary to frames and such but it'd be a clever inovation

@Woody25: dont care how much more expensive it is, id take the fuel exe over that just based on the cables in the stem alone

intermittent overrun would absolutely be dangerous, if it was consistent you would learn to use it just like you learn your freehub engagement
