You Don't Need to Learn on a Hardtail - Opinion
I think that you learn a whole lot more about line choice, and bike handling technique from riding a hardtail. I love riding my dh bike, but when I really want to focus on choosing lines, or a certain technique, I pick my hardtail from my quiver. The reason for this is that you can feel a lot more with the hardtail. You can feel the the nuances of the bike, you can feel every pebble and it's easier to dissect your riding and identify what you are doing right, and wrong. There is no "makeup"
