The 2012 edition of the iXS Dirt Masters event just wrapped up in Winterberg Germany. The four day festival is Europe’s largest gravity festival and offers something for every bike enthusiast. The festival has over 180 exhibitors and competition action across many disciplines including four cross, enduro, iXS German DH, amateur dirt jump contests and the Red Bull Berg Line slope style.

Roughly 50,000 participants visited the festival over the four days to take in the vibrant atmosphere and various contests. There was certainly no shortage of racers as the enduro sold out a few weeks prior and the DH race had over 1000 racers. The festival originated six years ago to offer a place for gravity bike riders to meet, compete and for vendors to promote their products. The festival continues to grow every year and with the DH race and slope style it’s starting to attract some of the world’s top athletes like the Hutchinson DH race team and the top competitors on the FMB slope style tour. The people are friendly, the beer is cold and the riding is great here at Winterberg. After a great week PB will be back for the 2013 edition to cover the event. See you here next year!

Sam Reynolds should have won the event, he got robbed, I also think Thomas Genon should have took 3rd place with his run that included some pretty dope combos, neither Pilgrims or Anthony's run was that good especially when Anthony was riding the small line, one trick shouldn't make or break a run. MAJOR PROPS to the Claw for building a super rad course

Yeah, I have the same thoghts. Raynolds land his double on the manuall and overshoot that first jump but the rest was quite perfect.

Ther's difference between Anthony and Andreu m8. Andreu pulled cleaner doubleflip, also won on the log with tailwhip - Sam did tuck no hand, all in all had a bit better run. Why is there so much Andreu haters out there. Agreed for Thomas thought.

Not complicated Sam decided that his first run was good enough so he came up with the Tire excuse so that he doesn't do the 2nd Run in which the Judges were just waiting for someone to land a double flip for which Andreu landed perfectly to hand him the win. I'll bet you that Sam will never use the "Tire excuse" again. Judges don't like that kind of sportsmanship and especially Red Bull. Great riders attract large crowds and by Sam Chocking on not doing the 2nd Run is just a little conservative in my opinion. Sam is a fantastic rider, I expected more professionalism from his part.

Andreu deserves the win Big Time, he's a smart rider and deserves to be where he's at.

Congrats to the professionalism of Darren Berecloth for everything he has done for this event. He makes me proud to be Canadian.
