This would be the second year that I've had a camera in hand as a 'serious' enthusiast. Having some pretty cool gear to mess around with has made this season even more fun. 'Photo-taking' has become my newly sparked passion. That plus biking has become quite the ultimate combination! Photography has become what biking once was to me; FRESH. It's always nice to have something fresh to think about and enjoy doing. Worrying so much about bike parts has become quite stale in my mind, (not that I don't love biking to death!). Photo gear has now replaced that obsession! I only hope that I've matured at least somewhat over time, so hopefully camera gear won't spoil this new hobby. I've purchased some somewhat fancy gear as of late, (don't worry, I won't go into details...). But the effects have definitely motivated my to try a little harder to get the shots I [think] I imagine. Well... this post is just to show what shots I found to be the coolest, most knarly, most perverted shots I've managed to capture this year. They may not all be the 'mega faves' of Pinkbike, but they're my personal 'mega faves'... sooooo... enjoy?!
Self triggered!
Fun times on ladder gap lane
Aaaand now entering my heavy edit phase past time... not a bad thing, just different!
The comments on this shot are the real experience...

Fluidride cup #1 2009-
One of the bigger mistakes I made this year was trying to do what many commercial photographers do; Taking shots of everyone in hopes of making everyone happy, seeing shots of themselves. I guess it could have been a little easier on my part if I'd only had the right editing software at the time... like lightroom! I'm darn sure batch editing would've come in handy very much so in this case, instead of editing every single shot separately! At least it gave me some practice time... hahaha, well... at this time I'm learning everything I can about post production. CS4 is a completely new world to me! There definitely are many new directions to go with shots using this software, but overall... natural('ish) shots have always been my favorite (I try!).
Fluidride Cup #2His shot is what inspires me to race
Best 'fan' shot ever
Well, that's all I feel like posting...the spirit of these all seem to sum up my experience this year. Personally, lots to work on this coming year. While I do find myself geeking out about all the gear I wish I had, I know that always comes with time, just as biking has!
thanks! I see yo did the same thing! and i'll say ditto to that!
i've got a bunch of stuff to shoot with now, compared to what i shot with in most of those shots. overall i just use my canon 50d body with a 50mm f/1.4 lens. i got the lens sometime in summer, so stuff before that was with an 18-55 which i don't touch anymore. sometimes i'll use a canon 580 ex2 flash w/ gary fong diffuser. I just got an expo disk, which sets the white balance really easily and very well. auto white balance is no longer an option. also new is a tokina 11-16 lens f/2.8. my 2012 album is almost all with that lens so far, just cause i'm learning to use it. haha. I have yet to use my new pocketwizard tt5 flash triggers, as well as my dakine backpack, both very handy things. i'm either shooting freehand, with a manfrotto monopod or with the awesome blackrapid r-strap. I edit with lightroom. I just got cs4, so i'm still learning how to use it. i most likely won't use cs4 for basic editing, cause light room is baller for that already. but cs4 will be the choice for making 'marketing' shots or whatever.
this is my usual look for most shoots. 5-tens are the only option for serious shooters
but i wish i could look like ANY of these guys. any of them...

Seriously, though, great shots and thanks for sharing them!
