Norco Bicycles Expands Click-and-Collect E-Commerce Platform to US Markets

We just expanded our online shopping portal, introduced to Canadian consumers earlier this Spring, to the shoppers in the United States. Now, American riders can enjoy the convenience of buying online with a click-and-collect program that connects them with the expertise and a personal touch of our Norco family of independent bicycle dealers across North America.

While this mechanism of selling online, and delivering our wide range of premium bicycles at a local dealer is relatively new, we are confident that it will allow our dealers to better meet the needs of modern consumers.

The program is getting added support from Norco dealers because it deposits margin share from each fulfilled online sale directly into the dealer’s bank account – not through product credit, as done by other companies doing business in the click-and-collect space.

Additionally, contrary to holding dealers to rigid, brand-driven return policies, we encourage them to abide by their own shop return policies where they can take measures to manage returned inventory as they see fit.

 Except what I really want from online shopping is better pricing, and while the price of Norco bikes are better value than some brands, I'd rather they sent me the bike to assemble and give me the value of the margin rather than the retailer.

 What middle man? Bike goes from production to distributor to retailer. Now they have given you the option to pick the exact bike you want no longer do you have to settle with the frame color your desired spec comes in. It still goes the exact same route just you get more options before it leaves the distributor. Also prices have remained the same where other brands have gone consistently up! Good job Norco!!

 It's not really eliminating the middle man. The only difference between this and buying bikes traditionally is that you place tell Norco to place the order to the distributor rather than your LBS placing the order to the distributor.

 Picked my kid's new bike up yesterday after ordering online Saturday. Great experience; order defaulted to local dealer immediately, and the Norco salesman seemed genuinely please with the easy sale.

 I don't see why they'd care. You're paying the same here as you would at the dealer and the dealer is still making the same margin on the sale. The only difference is you order the bike rather than the dealer ordering the bike. If anything, they'd like this more as it would save time for the sales guys in the store.

 I'm curious to see what they're going to do with their 2020 Sight / Range bikes. I can't get any info out of the LBS.

 @rrolly: well considering these where prototype designs I highly doubt they would know. I don,t know if these where a 2020 or 2021 design. The changes where noticeable to eye when looking at them.
