Congratulations to Eric Meza on winning the Norco Bicycles
#AdventureBeginsHere contest. We took him on an unforgettable mountain bike getaway in British Columbia’s South Chilcotin Mountains Provincial Park backcountry and gave him a new Norco Optic trail bike. Norco Bicycles’ Jonathan Duncan and Pat Mulrooney were there to document the adventure.
Norco rep, Pat Mulrooney has spent nearly 20 years exploring every inch of singletrack in the South Chilcotin Mountains Provincial Park and helped come up with a classic route that would not disappoint. Geoff Playfair, the legendary Tyax Adventures guide and Whistler fire chief, and Jonathan Duncan, Norco’s Team and Western Events coordinator and filmmaker, made up the remainder of the party.
The foursome boarded the Tyax Adventures float plane at Green Lake in Whistler, and flew deep into the grassy hills of the South Chilcotin Mountains to Lorna Lake. The adventure begins! The weather was challenging day one and everyone got wet... really wet. After a grueling day in the saddle, they dropped into our final descent to Tyaughton Creek and Bear Paw camp. The team's steeds were corralled for the evening outside Bear Paw cabin.Deer Pass. It's always a good omen to meet deer in Deer Pass. The crew also witnessed a pair of Marmots sparring over a female, and a healthy Grizzly!Mount Dickson view never gets old. Nothing matches the vistas of the South Chilcotin's painted hills. Our winner, Eric Meza turned out to be a great person to win the contest. Already a serious Norco Bicycles fan and owner of a Range and Aurum, the 2016 Optic rounded out his quiver perfectly. Eric also had above average bike handling skills and was an avid mountain traveller. Perfect fit!
