Video: Matt Macduff Rides the New Norco Shore in ‘Augment Legend’

by Norco Bicycles

The mountains of Vancouver’s North Shore have ignited imaginations for decades - an enchanted realm formed by nature and hand sculpted with trails of triumph and confronting challenge.

There is a life force at play here - intertwined with every rock, root and trail relic. It draws you in and alters your perception of the impossible, leaving an undeniable, indelible mark.

IT'S WHERE RIDERS BECOME FREERIDERS.

It’s where boundaries are broken and limits hyperextend. Where gravity meets technique and technology amplifies instinct to exploit every scrap of untapped potential.

Twenty years have passed since we drafted the blueprint for the original Shore. The mountains of North Vancouver remain steadfast, demanding evermore from riders and their equipment. They are the ultimate inspiration and proving ground for the sublime big-mountain ride that’s driven by the mystical place that started it all, and demands the most from those who ride there.

Nature shots were cool and neat. However nothing about the film screamed 180mm travel bike. I feel like any of that riding could have been done on something smaller in travel.

That was some great cinematography and editing, but I prefer my MacDuff clips when MacDuff is in charge of the storylines!!!

wait, the bikes 180mm?? barely even saw the thing..
  • 9 1
yup, there are some monster hits on Seymour that could have shown off that bike.

But anything can be done on smaller travel, thats like saying "I can surely ride my trail bike down the world cup courses" but a DH bike is obviously gonna be a huge difference

@counterpoint: Bingo...video just shows of sweet nature slow-mo's not the bikes actual capabilities.

I think the point of this video is the "shore" going back to its roots, where the bike was born.

You ridden the Shore much, Minnesota? Think you and probably 98% of the mtb community would welcome 180mm for specifically what he's riding in the video.

I agree... and I want to buy one.. ( history etc... ) but at that weight I'm kinda finding it hard to justify to myself... perhaps we have all moved on? / less travel is more fun? ( bias here, I have an Optic and have sold my 160mm rig as it's no longer needed).

Awesome to see a bike company remembering freeride. It's been neglected and ignored but its the best side of mountain biking. More companies need to make a bike to have fun on.

That's outstanding filming! Please can someone tell me who filmed and edited this ? The artist deserves credit for this masterpiece.
Love the bike. Love the Shore.

Credits are at the end of the video if you want details on the many amazing people who helped bring this home, but the team captain was Scott Secco.

@norcobicycles: thanks . Tough to see credits on my smart phone.

Agreed- I was wondering why the millennium log had been seeing some love recently (not that it doesn't deserve it).

@norcobicycles: Ah Secco. Man every time I am blown away by an edit or get little PNW happy goosebumps in rolls Scott in the credits. I was waiting for the super slow crisp roost into the RED camera lens but meh can't be in every edit.
