Video: Godziek Brothers Ride the New NS Bikes Nerd

PRESS RELEASE: NS Bikes

Fast, fun and affordable. That's what we were chasing in the designing process of the Nerd bikes family. And judging by the grinning faces of Szymon and Dawid Godziek - we got it all pretty good! The range includes 3 bike types. Nerd Lite (coming in two specification price point versions), Nerd HD and Nerd Jr.

First of them - the Nerd Lite, ridden by Szymon - an aggressive 29” new-school trail bike with 120mm frame travel and modern geometry. An efficient tool for hammering climbs (77 seat tube angle that puts the rider in the front and prevents the front wheel from popping up), but it turns into a rowdy rascal when you point it the other way (long reach and 67° head tube angle let you fly down the most of the trails out there). With sturdy alloy construction, solid, forged rocker, three oversized bearings in the main pivot, the Nerd Lite is fast, fun and will last.

On the other side of the spectrum, you will find the Nerd HD - a long travel machine for enduro and bike parks. The mullet 29” and 27.5” wheel setup gives the rider the best of both worlds for this type of bike. The front rolls over stuff with ease but the smaller rear wheel makes it easy to throw the bike around. It also means we could squeeze in a monster 180mm of rear travel.

The frame paired with beefy 160mm fork from X-Fusion makes the Nerd HD a good package for riders on a budget looking for a gravity focused all-rounder. 64° head tube angle and 76° seat tube angle boosts your confidence on rowdy descents and jumps but still lets you ride up the hill comfortably, if the bike park chairlift is busy or simply not there.

Last, but not least - the Nerd Jr 120/120 mm travel full suspension kids bike, designed to work with both 24” and 26" wheels. Initially sold with 24” hoops, but when the kid grows, you can change both the wheel size and change the geometry of the bike. The latter is possible thanks to a special offset shock hardware, that lowers the BB height and slackens out the head angle after the wheel swap. This makes the bike easier to mount and more stable at higher speeds which will most likely be encountered as the rider becomes older and more confident.
