Pinkbike Poll: What's the Farthest You've Ever Ridden in 24 Hours?
I rode a tire into the casing, fully loaded touring bike, finally blew in the middle of Kansas, made a liner patch from a water bottle and ran it between the tube and tire for forty miles until I could get a new tire.

Pinkbike Poll: What's the Farthest You've Ever Ridden in 24 Hours?
Distance on a mountain bike is kinda thin, is it a mountain bike because the bars are flat? Is a mountain bike ride because the surface wasn’t asphalt? I once ride 178 miles with a fully loaded touring bike, front and rear panniers, no support, no partners, and nothing to eat but a couple ears of corn; no joke, I ran out of money, got the cut off a transport truck. The difficulty of a ride is so subjective, almost not worth asking .... hike Mt Whitney then compare that to hiking the PCT them compare that to running an ultra.

Throwback Thursday: Peaty, Warner, Ashton and More in Chainspotting
Generational memory has always sucked, all that means is you are getting old ;) I remember my first suspension fork, RS, circa 1996, the same year my son was born.

@SickEdit: Overpressurizing the system will also push the pads into the rotors, so not a booster per say, so really it only works on brakes that don't have a bite adjustment.

The Pinkbike Podcast: Episode 9 - Why Are We Doing a Cross-Country Field Test?
Hey Mike, I have a request: I typically lose focus and/or don't have time to listen to an hour long podcast... So how about limiting length to thirty minutes and maybe break out the segments into narrower topics?

Video: The Basics of Modern Mountain Bike Geometry - The Explainer
So why upgrade anything? What year is your car/truck? How about your household applicance? So some things may matter less than others, a good set of tires and a suspension rebuild might suit a person just fine, but then at a certain point old is old, so it just depends on what you want from your stuff. In theory, with the exception of a few outliers, bike geometry has steadily changed over time for the better, so the older your existing bike, the further you are from the current standards. To each their own, but I figure two to three years as a "flip" point, but some folks might go five years, after that you either don't care that much, can't afford to care that much, or you just don't know any better. If you ride a lot and you're replacing suspension, drivetrain, wheels, etc... then a new bike makes more sense.
