A few weeks ago on July 25th, DH races kicked off again in Costa Rica. After several months since the last official race, Ciclon Bike Shop organized a 4-hit Downhill race called Ciclon DH Marathon. The race took place at Senderos de Colón, San Jose, Costa Rica.

Over 100 riders showed up to the race and this was a complete party in the jungle!

The weather during the 4-5 days prior to the race, changed the track conditions and added a new spicy flavor to this race. Riders had to adapt quickly to the new super wet conditions.

Everyone was super stoked to be back in their bikes and racing against their longtime friends. This new format also pushed the riders to prepare not just for a full gas run, instead, they needed to plan to keep their pace for 4 full runs at a very physical and demanding track.

The "Ciclon" Track is considered one of the best DH tracks in Costa Rica, technical, fast and had a few new features for the riders to enjoy.

Despite the wet conditions and threats of rain during the race day, riders truly enjoy this event and by the end of the day, the podiums were filled with smiles, tears of happiness and friendship. We hope to see more of these events in the future and looking forward to the Costa Rican National DH Championship to be held on Sept, 12th on this same track...with a few surprises. Stay tuned for our video recap!

Nice to see how downhill is evolving around the globe!

It will be great to see regional Pinkbike weekly updates as I'm pretty sure there is so much going on than only Worldcup Series (which don't take me wrong they are great!).

Keep up the good work guys!
